My day

After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

Freddie, how about something like this built diagonally across the corner where the current vanity is.

It is sort of what I had envisioned for enclosing the bath, until I learnt of your major overhaul.  I mean the bathroom overhaul.Smiley Very Happy

I would think the floor tiling would need to be done prior to your chippy/cabinet maker doing his thing.

A month seems a long time.. if you mop the floor two or 3 times and the floor is still making your feet black, then obviously not a mop problem. Bit of a mystery.

It is a mystery, I am prepared to try this and see what happens. If the problems continues at least I have tried.

what cleaner are you using?

Just water on this new vinyl.  The mop is the same mop I used prior to the vinyl, so it would have had a combination of Handy Andy, pine-o-clean and probably other cleaning products used with that mop.

hmmmm.....i agree with am3 -

i think a month is a bit long if you clean the floor

regularly.   maybe try using hot water and vinegar

if the new mop thing doesnt work.

I would ask carpet craft for the specified cleaning instructions for the vinyl.  (In case, they come back at you with the announcement of the wrong cleaning agent  used which voids any warranty.)

Might I suggest that you request a representative from the manufacturer/importer to visit your installation.

The month thing, is going to run into the busy pre-Xmas period.  Consequently, this could all end up into next year.

Re: My day

Good morning lovelies we are up early this morning arn't we??

Thanks for the input re the grouting and yes they were my feeling as well. With just the 2 of us here I can't see there would be issues with cleaning the lighter grout, except if i've been running around the kitchen with bare feet.

I'm buying my new mop today, so my intention is to mop the floor daily with just warm water for a week and see if the issue resolves by the end of next week. I will then go back to capet craft and speak to them regarding recommendations for cleaning product for the vinyl.

Re: My day

One of the best cleansers for vinyl flooring is apple cider vinegar. The acidity in the vinegar helps remove dirt and grime without leaving a buildup of soap or wax. Simply mix one cup of cider vinegar with a gallon of hot water and use a damp mop to clean, rinsing the mop frequently with hot water. Substitute white vinegar for cider vinegar if you want to disinfect as you clean. If your floor is especially dirty, try adding a few drops of liquid dishwashing soap to the mixture before mopping once with the soap mixture, a second time with vinegar and water. To add shine to your vinyl floor, add a few drops of baby oil to the vinegar and water solution.

Re: My day

Mr Painterman/Builder is away next week he will be on the job the following week. I've been thinking about the built in seat come clothes box, I have a lovely cane hamper which is sturdy and seat size, I think I will use that for clothes and seating, problem solved *tick* That way it can be removed should the Princess come here to stay and we need room in the bathroom for her walker.

Re: My day

Make sure they use a heavy firm grout with a good sealer mixed in. The firmer /thicker the grout the less porous it will be. I will post a pic of my light coloured tiles and grout tonight....after my full day😩

Eat something you really like first, is what I do 🙂

my day so far. It is about 30 in the shade and I hate it, but am packing up my swimming stuff into its own little bag.

have two new sunscreens to try out, too. The coles one and one suggested by the chemist as being a low irritant pure zinc. Thank you 🙂
