My day

After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

Re: My day

My Mother-in-law was advised to wear those hip protectors after she had a fall and broker her hip at the age of 90.

She got them..............but hated them............it meant a lot of her clothes did not fit any more due to the bulk of them...................and it made going to the toilet un-aided difficult for her.

But she was still living at home.

Glad your mother escaped her fall with only a bit of bruising.

Re: My day

Thanks Flashie, I don't think the Princess would wear the hip protectors for that same reason, as much as she doesn't like it she understands the importance of staying safe and using the wheel chair.

Re: My day

My garden will be cleaned up next weekend. I need to make up my mind about what I want done by this Sunday which is when my niece is coming over to figure out what will be needed.

What I know, so far, is that I would like the clothes line installed - its on its side at the moment and has become a climbing frame for jasmine.Something needs to be done about the veggie patch because it is and eyesore. Instead of one HUGE concrete monstrosity, perhaps, three smaller, more aesthetic beds. I have lots of weeds - mostly self-seeded shrubs.trees that need to go and a path reinstated.

Piles of rubbish need to go and after that,my back yard should be ready for me to enjoy .Cat Happy

Re: My day

Good your Mum's fall injuries weren't to serious, Freddie.

Both my Mum & my Aunt ( in their 90's)broke their hips fron falls. Aunt recovered from the hip operation but with her dementia she wouldn't eat or drink and died a month later.
She was quite agile, no walker but tripped on a dining room chair leg.
Mum died of aspiration pneumonia a few days after she broke her hip. Had she lived the specialist wasn't keen to ooerate because of her age, diabetes and dementia. The hip would have healed but she wouldn't have been able to walk. She wouldn't have liked that.
She was supposed to get staff help her to undress for bed, go to toilet..but she liked to do things for herself hence the fall.
She had a walker. No getting away with not using it in the home.

Re: My day

Your garden looks great Nics.  What is the weeping tree that you have in the front bed?
