After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this

Lovely mirror Freddie - I am not a huge fan of cane, but I think that one is very nice And bushie - Freddie saw it first!
I was VERY good today - I got up early before it got too hot and took the muttleys for a walk.... by the time we were headed back home they were both panting and went straight for the water bucket....
The aircon went on pretty early, and the dogs were inside most of the day enjoying the cool too. I had to have a nanna nap this afternoon, so there were the 3 of us, me on the lounge, them on the floor under the cool air blowing from the aircon - and snoring!
I really dont like the heat, I never have the energy to DO anything ... and the chores just keep piling up
Hope it is cooler tomorrow.

Gorgeous gardenia Joono. We have two in tall, square pots that are growing a tad bonsai-like. Teeny-tiny leaves and miniature flowers. Otherwise healthy.
one other in a gigantic round pot has flowers bigger than my hand.
But when it's a hot summer, the flowers tend to scorch before they open ๐ and they are too heavy to be moved.

Thank you, that was from last flowering. Not sure there will be many this year.

Very nice Amber. Mine is in a very large pot. It has done really well and when it gets leggy I chop it back quite hard and it gets all beautiful again.
The flowers are hit and miss, as you say. They are perfect for such a short time and they go off really quickly. The one I just took is the first one this season. It was a bud yesterday and by Sunday it will be all over red rover.

I never seem them growing in my area, so I am assuming they don't do well, too cold perhaps? Azaleas and Camellias dont do well her either, which is a shame ๐

Sometimes I cut off a flower with the leaves and float it in a bowl inside. Just the one ๐

Maybe not Bushies. It takes some pretty hot summers and thrives on neglect and when it kicks up it recovers very quickly with a bit of water and a quick word.
It's a Mediterranean climate here and the winters are mild.
