The man freddie hired hasn't done any plumbing has he? Plenty of 'handymen' do small jobs that aren't 'registered' builders.
The job is going to be completed to Freddie & Mr F's satisfaction by the looks of it.. took a long time.. but if it is all OK when he is finished what's the problem then?
We had problems when we built a house with registered plumber, registered builder..list goes on. They were resolved to our satisfaction at no extra cost... just a hassle.

Don't be concerned Twinks i'm handling things really really well after my chat with him today he extracted a few digits and knuckled down because he understands I don't play nice when people take advantage of my kindness.
So just leave it with me, i'm sure we will have pictures soon.

Keep the Fair Trading Office number on speed dial, freddie.
Generally, not referring to a specific job, but I think a person can still take a handyman to the small claims tribunal if there is a dispute about cost or workmanship.(if the claim is under $10 000).

But any problems with a registered builder can be reported to the relevent authority should they not be rectified satisfactorily. I take it this fellow is not registered then. A painter by trade but not a builder?

The only plumbing was the installation of mixer taps which only required minor alterations, the same with the toilet and the vanity unit, and those alterations were using the same plumbing as was already there.

Just 'cause they are registered does NOT make them good tradespeople, plenty of people who have built/renovated have been ripped off by so called registered, licensed trades people.

Lesson for everyone....make sure they are registered insured and have a signed contract.

Maybe everyone doesn't need lessons..
I bought this plant in WW earlier this year, in flower. After the flowers died, I planted it in the garden. It is about to have flowers again.
Lisianthus.
