My day

After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

Re: My day

well we had an exciting afternoon. plenty of thunder, lightning and rain here and no power most of the afternoon. We drove to a little shopping centre in the next suburb and trees were down everywhere. I couldn't believe what I was seeing as we had no wind here. The people in the shops told me it was because the rain had been so heavy   Woman Surprised

there is a small dip in the road near the shopping centre with a sort of a park on either side, I think it must be for water runoff, anyway all the traffic was doing U turns as the water on the road was really deep, I would call it a creek

OH says, this is a diesel, so it will be OK to go through, the water came up to the top of his tyres. After driving through, he checks his brakes to make sure that all is well.

we get back home and he finds that his front number plate has washed away lol

so we go back and we find a number plate, but not ours, so we pulled some sticks and leaves out of the storm wate drainr opening and luckily found his.  we noticed another car had gone through and stopped, must've got water in their electrics and they were also missing their front number plate.

the extra one we found he's taking to the local police station shortly

so lucky his plate hadn't disappeared down the drain

Re: My day

It was kind of funny searching for the number plate Bushies, funny too that we found someone else's. They are held in by screws I think? The water we went through had a pretty strong current. on 9 news they just showed some of the tree damage in that suburb. Here at home, there is no damage at all

Re: My day

That sounds really nasty weather Debra. Glad you're OK. Back up to 33 here. The CBD was torrents and high winds. Fine here...very strange weather altogether.
