My day

After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

Re: My day

Debra I think they may be just council laws which seem to vary greatly. The only law here is they must be registered/micro chipped ( state laws). I am sure most of them arent and dont get me started on all the FREE kittens I constantly see on my FB pages.

Re: My day

Good morning everyone (and especially to Freddie if she is accessing her thread, hope she is ...  Heart)

Lots happening here but nothing that could be described as "pressure" just yet ....  Smiley Very Happy ... although there is a rather big event coming up towards the end of the year which involves me and an exam recital on the mainland, so of course, I've started the preparations now ...  Smiley Frustrated ... but maybe I'll win the lottery before that and not even bother (yeah, right!!) ....  Smiley Tongue

On scrolling back, have been reading about the tree lopping and how a trunk fell onto the shed ...  Smiley Surprised ... so glad there was no living thing in it, how scary is that.   What a beautiful property though, gorgeous trees and there must be some fantastic wildlife including birds to be seen/heard?  Truly a piece of paradise.

Hope everyone is having a really good week.

Love what's happening in your garden Bushie, it's given me yet another idea, great inspiration xx

Re: My day

Good morning everyone 🙂

Debra, cat saliva is toxic, they have bacteria in their mouths that are used as part of their defence against other cats. Agree that cats should be desexed and registered as a basic rule (unless there is a good reason not to desex, as in pedigree cat for breeding). The neighbour cats are over here all the time for the shade. Not really an issue until the totally out of control large male moved in. It followed me everywhere in the garden trying to scratch and bite. This went on for months. The owner didn't care. One day he got me, multiple scratches and a couple of bites. Used antiseptic right away but the fang marks became infected and I had septicaemia. Again the neighbour didn't care. Hubby was livid. The cat's nickname was monster and it was plain horrible. Finally a bigger male decided he liked the look of the place and drove him off. We get along just dandy 🙂

as the neighbour refused to keep him in check after the bites we informed the council. The ladies I spoke with were horrified but the ranger never came out, even though I requested it and followed it up several times. Useless. I won't post pics but I swelled up to three times my normal size and could have died.

Re: My day

omg amber, that sounds awful, it wouldn't have lasted long in my yard, the hounds are not too keen on cats. I am not really a cat person, tolerated a cpl when my children were little but would never own one now.

Waiting on my timber to arrive, waiting, waiting

Re: My day

Well we don't speak to those neighbours anymore. Hope the timber hurries up Bushie.

Re: My day

Found a Welcome Mat today.  Sort of cast iron, I think.  H-e-a-v-y. as.  Should be ok to scrape muddy shoes.  And then up to the usual door mat.

Heard a baby bird today.  Way up high on the top of trees or the highest of TV antennaes.  Sounds like a "shivering chatter".  I think it's a falcon or hawk.

The baby currawong is still about.  And found the proper water trough rather than the drip tray.

Bushie, timber arrive?  Might have to look into rounding the corners of those sleepers.  Could be a bit of an ankle "hitter" when cutting the corner to the stepSmiley Sad  Looking nice and tidy and sturdy.

Hope all the cats behave themselves for you cat owners.

Having leftover steak and kidney "stew"  for din-dins tonight.  Tastes better.

***waves*** to those MIA.

Tasfleur, I'm going to be nosey.  What instrument is being constantly practised?

DEB

Re: My day

That's okay Lloydslights, I don't mind sharing my love of music xxx

I play flute and bass viola da gamba plus when pushed, baroque tenor and treble recorders (but only when pushed) ...  Smiley Very Happy

I'm gearing up for a flute recital (with accompanist husband) towards the end of the year on the mainland.  It will be with another soloist also, so a double concerto is involved plus other pieces.

Lots of technique to be worked on, but it's fun as well as a challenge.

Re: My day

Hope it goes well Tas 🙂

I have been listening to audition pieces for six months, picking them apart for someone going to an overseas audition today.

Re: My day

Timber finally arrived, so did the rain, so tools were "downed" for the rest of the day.

Cooked my "famous" spag bol for lunch, only happen a cpl of times a yr, cause I am not a great fan of mince, tasted delish with fresh garden salad and garlic bread .

Amber I dont blame you, I cant stand feral cats or their owners. It annoy me how much trouble and cost we have to go re our dogs, micro chipping, registrations, yearly yard inspection and permits and cats just roam around everything with not much being done to stop it from happening.

DEB I need to look at a new front door mat, it's been on my list for ages, just never get around to buying one. The steps will have "fancy" handrails and balusters so every should be ok. I just have to decide which "bits" I want to paint, if any.

Tas I am sure everything will go well for you and Mr Tas, but understand your concern.

Everything is getting a lovely soaking atm, could have save the hour I spent watering the front law and garden this morning, oh well lol

Re: My day

Hope that rain moves across here Bushie. It is humid and feels likely.
