After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this

A different sort of lighting installation in the grounds of a Somerset tourist centre in England. Might think about uplighting my clothesline.

Good morning all.
B3 that is very sad. Certainly makes you think doesn't it. Sad for her husband too, as their plans for retirement will now not eventuate.
Quiet day for me I think. Just some paperwork, and a few phone calls to make. I hate it when all the little things that need to be done suddenly loom large.
Love the illuminated undies.

Thanks for the kind comments...
Got a parcel delivered this morning, the poor delivery driver had tears in hi eyes as he told me I will need to go to the main AP shop for the foreseeable future...
Wonder how all the elderly from the retirement home are going to go now? It's a fair hike into town for them.
But on the GOOD NEWS front,
MY DYD is now at 12 weeks, so I can announce that I am going to be a Grammy again come August!

I often thought the Bermuda Triangle was situated in my washing machine.
Good morning all.
A couple of grandkids on the way, how lovely.
So sad to hear of a local identity passing away. My own mother, a long term community member went unexpectedly too, and she was still fondly spoken about by our customers 15 years later. She had seen schoolgirls grow up and even witnessed some of them becoming grandmothers. The local lads becoming sportsmen on Australian teams, CEOs of corporations, even down-and-outers. They all held her in high esteem.
The humidity woke me early. It's now raining! Afternoon nap might be a bit earlier today. Or at least a lazing, reading day.

Sorry to here about the post office lady - very sad - but great news about the grandbaby.
A run of hot days expected here so the bird baths and other containers have been filled with water. I'll water the garden this evening. I have a couple of friends coming over sometime today - one from interstate - the three of us haven't been together for over ten years and I am so looking forward to it. The house is as tidy as it is going to get. I'm off to put a fruit platter together and wait for my guests to arrive.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Have a wonderful day with your friends Blue - its great to catch up after a long time.
Well we were to leave this morning for a 13 day cruise around New Zealand. We had a call yesterday from our travel agent - cruise line had overbooked and offered a full refund and another 15 day cruise anywhere in the world free if we opted out - in a mini suite!!!.
Of course that's an offer too good to pass up so we accepted and now have our money back, a free 17 day cruise around the top end of Australia down to Fremantle in March. Win/win!!!
Bit disappointed not to be going today but March is not far away and we have already been to NZ once - the cruise in the mini suite is worth ten grand more than our original balcony cabin one for 13 days.
