My day

After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this before and after 002.JPG

Re: My day

That turned out well, in the end for you, Rosie... mini suite sounds good.

Some people would have made arrangements to take time off work etc, and wouldn't be impressed at all.

Re: My day

We would not have accepted the offer if we had that sort of problem - but it matters not to us when we go.  We could have said not but really felt it was too good to miss out on.

I wonder how often they overbook?  It probably is quite common  because the confirmation email referred to their "Move over" offer.  I think it was especially generous   because it was so close to sailing time.  We were just lucky.

One of my cousin's & his wife used to travel a lot to UK & Europe. They would have a short stopver  US on the way back. They were often on overbooked flights back from there.. they always took up the offer to fly back on another flight.. got to stay 1-2 days in a posh hotel, pool etc.. they were self-employed so another couple of days didn't bother them.

Airlines overbook by about 10% I think.

Congrats b3 - new grandchild on the way.. exciting. Sad to hear  about the lady in the PO.

Re: My day

Afternoon all.

Warmish here 32. Could be worse, tomorrow 40 is expected. I have been on my usual saturday visit to mum. I take her saturday night tea. Usually something I cook, but today bought quiche and salad.

Going out this evening for a family meal, will be good to skip the cooking and kitchen clean up.

Re: My day

Thanks for  the kind thoughts all.

Yes, she will certainly be missed, and by many more than just me

And thanks for the congratulations!

It will be a rocky road for this pregnancy - DYD was told she would be unable to have children recently, so this bub is a true blessing but I am keeping absolutely EVERYTHING crossed that she makes it to 9 months,

I am aching all over now, but got LOTS done today! Painting just seems to take such a loonnnggg time to get finished though - and there is still so very much to do.I'm thinking of shutting my shop and just staying down here for a couple of weeks to try to get on top of it.... it's not like current sales are doing much anyway,

Rosieglen, that is an awesome offer! We have never been given anything better than an classs upgrade when flying!  That almost amounts to a whole extra cruise for not much inconvenience at all~!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend Smiley Happy

Re: My day

I hope everyone had a good day. I was looking forward to finishing up in the garden and going back inside late this afternoon.. soon as  went in the power went off - for 2 hours.. survived.. but I did need some boiling water to pour on some rice noodles for rice paper rolls..so long wait for that.

Re: My day

Rosie, the alternative cruise sounds like it will be fantastic even though it is a shame that the other one fell through.

Well, it has been a few days of highs and lows for me. The father of my oldest and dearest friends passed away on Sunday. He was an amazing man and will be missed so much. Last night I went to Sarah McLachlan's concert with my best friend and we had so much fun. Sarah McLachlan has such a beautiful voice.

Al ot of walking was done which has made my stupid ankle swollen and painful so my day will be one of rest.

I hope that everyone is having a lovely day.
