After several hours during the week clearing and cleaning up a messy garden my day started like this

Afternoon all.
commiserations BC, always hard to hear of someone's passing.
Rest that ankle, will do it a world of good.
So far, little done here, just some general tidying up, and some bookwork. Neither of which I have much fondness for. I have neglected keeping up with tax stuff since OH had his illness. Time to shake myself off and get back to normal.
Have a good day all.
Still hoping Bushie will return with pics. ๐

Good afternoon Katy, Blue, Bushie and all .... a bit of a winter day here, the Tasmanian summer seems to be passing us by.
I'm making ice cream, bread, yoghurt and meat loaf today. The dishwasher, washing machine and crockpot are all happily churning away and then there is the ironing to do. Sigh!! I need the magic housework gnomes!

I had an interesting thing happen...
Got back from down south yesterday afternoon, and after I came home from the Post Office (the in town one *sigh*) I noticed a bird sitting on the ground under the trees in my front garden..
Checked on it when I came back from walking the dogs and it didn't seem to be able to fly - it just hopped slowly away seeming to drag a wing, so I encouraged it to hop up into one of the bushy trees to help keep it away from the local prowling cats and moved the water bowl in under that tree.
I looked this morning and it was back on the ground, a young eastern Wattle Bird. No parents around that I could see but I had a hairdresser appointment...
I rang Wires while there, and they put me on to the local Fauna people - the man said he would come after he finished work this afternoon to get it (before the local cats do)
Well!! While we were trying to get it into the net this afternoon the cheeky thing suddenly decided it actually COULD fly! The Fauna man said it was flying well enough to get away from cats - and I have heaps of native flowers out for its food at the moment so they left it.
Just hope I don't go out to a pile of feathers in the morning .

Hello everyone. Been busy with work and very tired in the heat. Caught up on the news here. Bushie's steps remain a much-wanted post!
Need to work away from Melbourne for a few days here and there. Will miss Valentine's day. Is anyone doing anything special for the 14th?

We seem to have missed out on the worst of the heat the last few days - either that or it is still coming. We have had a few showers of rain though making it really humid (and the asthma a pain in the butt)
My Post Office lady's funeral was today - so many people from all walks of life came ... It was a lovely ceremony, and a real celebration of her too short life. There is talk her daughter will be re-opening the business once she has had the Aus Post training - if she is half the woman her mum was she will do well
We will be back down south on the 14th , dinner with our DYD, then getting ready to go on our little cruise on the 15th

It was pretty hot & humid here 'down south' today, b3. Too hot.. around 30 but felt higher.
Does your daughter live in/near the area you are moving to?
I think you deserve the time out on a cruise.. after all the work you have been doing.
