Re: My registered cat has been beaten.....

Awwwhhh cats that is simply dreadful.  I love cats and was really hoping he'd been beaten to the winning post instead of badly injured.

May he recover quickly and may you always carry a bit of 4 x 2 with you... Smiley Mad

Re: My registered cat has been beaten.....

Cheers bluecat for this info about how to start harness and walkies training:).....I remember researching on my female when I got her and info stated that the Japanese Bobtails are easy to walk......not sure how I'll go with the other feline here but I will certainly give it a go.Thanks again.

Re: My registered cat has been beaten.....

I hate cruelty to animals, very cowardly to beat a defenceless being.

If the ready made cat runs are too expensive ( and I think they probably are for what you get) how about advertising locally for an aviary or enclosure that is no longer used? If you have facebook maybe let ppl know what you are looking for. You may be lucky.

Re: My registered cat has been beaten.....

I'm so sorry to hear this it just makes my blood run cold. Paints I'm sure if you do some of the suggestions here  you will be able to keep your beloved pets safe.  People talk about feral animals well in my books they are the two legged variety.

Best wishes.

Re: My registered cat has been beaten.....

i dont understand anyone hurting an animal i think it is low
i want those of you who have cats that are allowed to wander to look at it from a non cat lover or non owners perspective though.
these pets of yours go to the toilet in other peoples yards, kids sand boxes, fight with other cats under someone elses window. stalk their birds and put them off nests, harass their guniea pigs or rabbits.. they annoy dogs in their own yards causing them to bark, they kill wildlife (yes even gently fluffy will kill it is a cats nature to do so) wandering cats are a pest not a pet.

although i dont get hurting an aniimal i understand the frustration of having someone elses pet in your yard wether it be a dog or a cat..

the best thing for your feline friend is to keep them on your own property wether it be in a cat run or you search the FB classifieds for a cheap avairy.
i truly hope your sweet pet recovers quickly and you keep them contained for their own saftey.

i remember years ago i got attacked on here because there were kittens dumped out here on a weekend and one managed to get out of the sealed verandah area where it was promptly eaten by a wild python - i was severly abused for allowing the kitten outside. yet this was not my cat nor my responsibility....

Re: My registered cat has been beaten.....

Paintsew, I am so very sorry that someone has done that to your beautiful cat ...  Smiley Sad  Anyone who would do that to a cat or any animal, as far as I am concerned and in my opinion, has psychopathic traits.

I agree with all those who have said that the best way to protect your cats is to have a pet enclosure and play area built where they can still be "outside" and having fun, but fully protected from cruel people and traffic etc, while at the same time protecting the wildlife into the bargain.

Hoping that your cat has a speedy recovery.  It is so upsetting for you, so big hugs xxx

I have 2 cats-1 female Japanese Bobcat and 1 male short-haired black with white bib and 'boots. My male cat has been subjected to a brutal beating by some human armed with something hard.

3 days now into recovery.A fat lip. A badly broken upper fang. A chip fracture front leg/elbow and possibly badly broken. Hardly eating. In a lot of pain-head,neck,spine,legs ......could not walk initially. 1 year old male, sterilised/microchipped/registered. Both kept in at night. Been to vet on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication for possible infection and inflammation.

If you don't like cats please don't say anything nasty or unhelpful. I am very upset just would like to ask for helpful suggestions on how to possibly stop my cats from wandering during the day so they don't get beaten again......maimed, beaten etc.

Thank you.

Re: My registered cat has been beaten.....

Paint, a few meters of chickem wire and a few posts to make an enclosure will not cost to much. Just make sure the top is covered with the wire as well and have some old canvas or tin for shade on one end. Put a few strong tree branches up for the cats to climb on, hang a few toys and the kittylitter box in one corner. Perhaps even put it in a wooden box so it is covered, with the open end on the side.

I love animals, but am not allowed pets where I live.
