Our new 'pup' (10 months) arrived a week ago and is settling in well. She seems happy and has stopped pining for her old family although every now and then there is a bit of wimpering if she can't see where we are.
She is drinking water but she isn't eating. The only thing we have managed to get into her is small bits of BBQ chicken skin (vets idea). That is in 7 days!
We called the breeder and apparently her companion (another female her age) also stopped eating but was back on her food by day 4.
Is there anything I can do?

The police force won't just take any old dog az. They want dogs in perfect condition and who are incredibly intelligent and enjoy being trained ....
I'm happy to hear you're home most of the day and your dog doesn't bark. 🙂

Max's legs are too short to be a police dog but he is intelligent, really.

I'm not at all surprised that he gets excited by liver treats and bones or even some barbecued chicken or the steak offcuts or even my son's sock. I fully expect that.
I am surprised that he gets so excited by the same old Advance weight control dog biscuits every morning, day in day out.
(Checks wiki to see if raw steak offcuts are a pass)

No need take j*oono's word for it (the intimation 'suggesting' it is not true) - just check out Baloo's picture and his great coat condition and clear eyes to see how well he is cared for!

Max gets very excited when a baby visits! It always scares me enough to keep the baby up high for a while.

Raw steak off cuts are great, including the bones which will help keep your dogs gums and teeth in good condition. I approve

Are we friends again?
I'm sorry for getting on my 'high horse'. It's the high horse I reserve for all things animals. I can't help it.

Yes 🙂
I am very much the same. I cannot stand animal cruelty.
