Do you think these pictures of Nigella Lawson should have been published?
I see it as a gross invasion of privacy, and i'm stunned that the photographer felt it more appropriate to take pictures, than to ask her if she was ok.

I'm SICK of news media = this is the kind of rubbish they consider newsworthy?...Oh and Shane Warnes' latest selfie?.....shoot me
The problem with Shane Warne is his ego, when he was playing cricket and the focus was on him he thrived in the attention, now he is no longer talked about in the media as much and IMO he cannot stand being out of the limelight and will do anything (even embarrass his children) to seek attention. Sickening stuff Yuk.
I feel sorry for his children and the jibes they will suffer at school from their peers.

While ever there are camera phones in someone's pocket there will be photos taken of anything news worthy.
yes....but define 'NEWS WORTHY'.....!!!.

Any Man that does what he did should be named and shamed.
I saw the pictures this morning and he is a abusive husband.
Lion...flip the coin over for a second...imagine you are Nigella...a public personality who could well do without her life being dissected like a science experiment.
Notwithstanding the distress she must be feeling right now, she has to deal with it in public?.......then consider her kids who will now have to put up with the embarrassment of their high profile mums marriage split and no doubt lots of playground bullying?....after the death of their real dad years back = even more trauma? (do I have that right?) I don't follow Nigella that much.
Now, let's talk about sub judice principle....i.e. if legal charges are going to be laid, NOBODY is allowed to discuss the situation factually or otherwise, as it is seen to prejudice any fair trial......that's why they have 'contempt of court' charges.
There's very good reason why a situation like this should NOT be splattered all over the news.....righteous indignation doesn't justify the invasion of privacy or the subsequent public fallout to this woman's reputation and her kids lives at school...JMO

Depends on the reader but unfortunately the world thrives on gossip and most people love a good story, how many people buy the WD, NI or other mags like them every week. I don't can't warrant wasting the money but some are addicted to the rubbish that is printed about movie stars and people in the public eye etc.

Newstart, many people thrive on gossip because the world is being conditioned to thrive on gossip......don't you agree?.....it's in our face everywhere.
I'll give you an example of what cringes me out.....a while back I was watching abc morning news and while they were droning on about the Boston bombings like it was Canberra being bombed (we wish - lol).....and the usual 'he said she said' brain dead Aussie politics.....there was a small bi-line that said "QUEENSLAND RESEARCHERS CURE BREAST CANCER IN MICE".
Never to be heard about again...just a teensy little bi-line...now I don't know about you, but I'd say the entire female gender would be more interested in THAT being the front page news, instead of all this superficial puddle jumping, we're being conditioned to accept as 'news worthy'.

GROAN....why is our world so superficial these days?....they have to go around annoying people for news?....blimey - forget the facts, speculation is more interesting.
I was watching the news this morning & even the ABC over-rides and creates news that isn't news........e.g. they & every other news outlet keep droning on about the leadership challenge on both sides and asking the same question over and over again, even if the interview has nothing to do with that........
It's like self fulfilling prophecy...if they say something long enough they'll make it happen, and often do.
I'm SICK of news media = this is the kind of rubbish they consider newsworthy?...Oh and Shane Warnes' latest selfie?.....shoot me
Oh cue you said exactly how i've been feeling about the utter rubbishy journalism, newspapers, and TV commentary we have been subjected to for a while, it's mind numbing to think most people believe the rubbish. Nigella is a big girl she can take care of herself, we don't need to hold her hand and pat her on the head.

Could not agree more but unfortunanely the masses love the gossip. Another example is the "menu" and how it has been publicised to the point where the real truth may never be known but the old saying is "you can't let the truth spoil a good story"

If this turns out to be true and he was doing all the things these 'witnesses' are suggesting, then I hope the newspapers turn their attention on every diner who just sat there listening and photographing instead of taking action.

again, they only love it, because they've been CONDITIONED, to love it.....all we have to do is demand more depth and not buy the gossip rags....use social media to tell them we want more substance....we don't have to follow the herd...that's defeatism in my world.
