The comments make interesting reading as well

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Re: Not even Labor loyalty will hold it together

funny that it is wrong for the labor party to replace someone but the libs said that if downer wanted to go into SA politics they would bump someone for him... what is the difference.

For starters, how long has Downer been a Lib?

Next point would be if whoever gets bumped doesn't want to, maybe they are ready to move onto something else or retire maybe they're not.

This woman doesn't want to be bumped. She wants to stay and continue doing the job that she seems to be good at? And to get bumped for a public person with no previous affiliation to the party is just wrong to me.  Don't care which party does it.

Re: Not even Labor loyalty will hold it together

So LL are you saying that Trish Crossin is not telling the truth?

Telling the truth about what exactly? Some no name journalist writing for a right leaning news forum quotes a bitter politician with a beef against her own government?

Anyway, there is no substance in that 3 paragraph story News Ltd story. Nothing in there that isn't already known.

  • Crossin was asked to make room for someone else. Big deal. It's old news already.

  • Crossin gets a pension for life. Big deal. She's just joined a long list of politicians Lib and Lab to get lucky.

  • Crossin asked for a plum job in return and  Gillard said "No way". Big deal. Can you imagine the cuffuffle if Gillard had given in to this blackmail?
