Not the point whether it is or not.  Obviously Trish Crossin doesn't want to retire. And feels hurt that she has been shafted for someone with no allegiance to the party. She has the right to be angry,hurt, disappointed.

 the public for the most part don't know or care. true or not. its the success of the confected 'scandals' in the run up. attention spans of swing voters are too short in terms of time and megabyte to even register this for later.. even if there was anything to it.
