goes to Josh Taylor from Pitt Town who allegedly fired the gun, shooting himself, while playing Russian Roulette.

Stupid, stupid kid.  Imagine how his family must be feeling....

If the story is true.

Well then,  How many illegal guns does this kid have?

If he survives police will be asking a lot of questions.

I'm sure his parents don't refer to their son as a numbnut and and its a tragedy if he dies. I feel very sorry for the family. Young men are stupid and reckless and if you had a son you'd understand that, calling him names??? just shows you up.

If another poster was here, the recounting of the story and the name-calling would have been a lot worse, and the cheer squad including the non-posting ones would have been back-slapping big time.

Numbnuts  - A person of severely limited intellectual prowess.

An arguably mild term IMO but seemingly true in this instance.

BTW, numbnuts also means stupid, which is the term you used.    Smiley Wink

I have a son - I would never understand the sheer stupidity and disregard for just how precious life is if he played this  'game', and I am sure I would call him much worse than a numbnut.

Re: Numbnut of the day award

I wonder if he was trying for a Darwin Award? Smiley LOL

I have four sons and I couldn't post here what I'd call them if they ever pulled a stunt like that.

Shooting the leg of lamb or trying to shoot with the leg of lamb?

I haven't been on this board before, just came across the Autumn photos then poked and pried into a couple of other posts.Woman Happy

My own view is everything is so politically correct these days we are doing people a disservice.

Even the police commissioner went on TV saying what a tragic thing it was etc.

How about calling it as it really is.

A young man was plain stupid and decided to take a huge risk.

Tragic is cancer, tragic someone who is a victim, not someone who inflicts harm on themselves deliberately.

Saying someone has done something stupid doesn't mean you dislike the person or wish them harm. Of course no one wants to see him die. Fact is, studies show that young men take dangerous risks till about the age of 25, till they develop judgement & a better sense of proportion. When you think of it, under 25s are the main ones who become soldiers too.

There's a well known website that lists the Darwin awards-specifically for people like this young man who manage to wipe themselves out.

It is a shame if he dies because no doubt if he did live to be over 25, he would probably develop more common sense.
