Noone can really know what is best for them personally without a test and a chat with the GP.
A friend of mine was in a dark chocolate cholesterol study about ten years ago.
He had to eat 100gms a day for three months. But everything he ate was monitored and structured.

Perhaps the fact that i don't eat butter or margarine helps and that I have a high metabolic rate

When I roast a chicken, I keep the fat in the fridge in an airtight container for the next day. It sets, and then I use the clear part only to roast potatoes, just a little bit scattered on here and there. No oil or butter. Rock salt. Tarragon.
Delicious.

People over use butter and margarine. Urgh!!
yep, lunch bars literally slap it on sammiches, you'd think they'd smear it on the bread to get as much out of it as possible and make that little bit extra profits, lol
margarine is carp i'll completely stay away from that after hearing its just one molecule away from plastic
theres a danish genuine butter i buy, sometimes the unsalted stuff too, if i absolutely need to use butter
Signatures suck.

Never taken to margerine.
Unsalted butter is the nicest, and allows control of the salt flavour better.
