my pet hates in over used words
heading up the top of my list is
journey - chronically overused, think talent shows and fake acceptance speeches
like - current habit seems to be to answer a question using this word at the beginning of the sentence, think talent shows or 2 bit celebs
apropos - habitually used by those who try to sound intelectual or politically savvy
what are words that you feel are overused to the point of cliche, or just plain old tired

tsunami of paperwork (just spent 4 days at Mum's and she listens to Allan Jones, she is in her late 80s so we have to make allowances)

Misogyny.
As I have yet to meet a misogynist.

devastated ( or devahstated)
and decimated - particularly when the destruction is far more that the one tenth indicated by the word. People say decimated as if it is total destruction

Actually - why do people have to include this in each sentence ?
Mate - I hate that TV ad with the two men repairing a fence and they keep calling each other 'mate'.
Rock - she was my rock when I was sick......
Decimated - incorrectly used word.
I hate listening to the news each Australia Day and have to listen to the presenter who keeps saying 'mate', to describe people.
They must be told to do this.

soooo....As I continue my journey to get a life, I basically like am devastated by the tsunami of bad language that my mate who is oriented by the misogyny of those seeking to rent. Let's be crystal clear about this, closure is apropos to nothing but we like value your contribution to the bespoke pacific rock.
