Darki has an axe to grind with the younger generation. i.e. those that are not yet pensioners.
Some years ago my mother when my mother was 84, she was abused by a bank clerk for asking a question about her pension. It seems the little so-and-so thought she didn't deserve one.
My mother had a baby when my father left to serve in the Middle East for five years... she paid taxes and she kept us both with the small stipend from my father's OS pay.
She earned every penny of that pension.
Now I have a pension and at 73 after something like 45 years of working I am entitled to relax.. my tax pays for that.
One day - IF you get to this age you might have managed to put aside a considerable amount of money to support yourselves, but of course something can go terribly wrong and you will find youself where gil is... it isn't funny and should not be berated.
Will now take axe off grinder 🙂
Who are you talking to?

I might add my 80 year old mother was reduced to tears because of the cruelty of that wretched clerk.
Never criticise anything that you are not old enough to have lived yet... You don't know X-(
Point well made there rabbit.

Gill our PM did deliver on her promised pension rise (not cut as you state in your OP) from the 20th March. You have your first part of that (going by the number of days ,since that date covered in your most recent pension).
Is it about half ? 27th today ? So that's a good thing 🙂
In regard to someone having an axe to grind with anyone younger than them because ONE younger person made his/her parent cry ?
I'm sorry but that is a cop out and not a good thing for anyone

you mean like some of the children of some of the posters on here, who, through no fault of their own, have little or no intelligence and yes, I guess some of them have even tried to stuff a spoonful of cereal in their ears and probably worse. Those of us with children like that also have to maintain a sense of humour, so we know what you mean...
You weren't supposed to take my silly comment serious ya know.
I was joking around to lighten the darkening mood around here up a bit.

What the Gillard government has done is to place people who were receiving the single parent pension payment on to the NewStart allowance. People now receive from $160 less per fortnight.

Yes, I realise that .... Peace ....
Also, I may be in the market for a new mobility scooter for her-in-doors - especially if she has to go out mowing lawns and walking dogs ... 😉
