PENSION RATE CUT

I'm not suggesting aged pensioners must get back to work (although it has been linked with a healthier old age). I'm suggesting that people who receive a pay rise be grateful and have the integrity to put politics aside while they spend a little minute appreciating the gift that has been given. The "me me, the country owes me" attitude is just so disconcerting to me.

It reminds me of a kid at a birthday party who pushes over another child after snatching the gift :^O

Oh Gill, put that zimmer frame away and start looking for casual jobs.. As to who would look after your OH who needs care during the day while you are working? You could pay a caregiver with your wages from your casual job. win-win, uh no I don't think so.

Aged pensioners (which the OP falls into that category) have contributed for many years as taxpayers and now it is their turn to get some of that back.. anyone that has a problem with that has a problem.

On the other hand some other beneficiaries could fall into the me, met the country owes me group.

thanks for that info Bella...was wondering about that.

"Get a job"???????????????????????????:^O:^O:^O

yeah that'd be right.. at 74 I'm sure everyone would rush to employ me....and why not?  I can type and spell..which is more than a lot of 'youse' on here can.

Who'd look after my OH who has dementia?   didn't think of that.mmmmm

I was talking about private employment.  It is easy to get at 74.  I did not know about your personal circumstances, which of course makes it different.  I was generalising about pensioners who whinge and do nothing.

I see them whingeing on television, SOMETIMES with a lot of jewellery, expensive furniture, expensive glasses (pensioner glasses are free) etc.

If they can't manage, sell something.

Oh please.  Where is the fun in that?

How is it possible to blame that upstart redhead woman, who never even had kids, who is treading on the men's turf where she don't belong, who is just so wrong because it's just so wrong,  who would euthanase everyone at 60 to avoid paying pensions, who would eat the noisy kids next door and feed their bones to boat people, who will make kids walk 20 miles to school in the rain with no shoes on.

Name names please ( of people over 74 you know who work part time to supplement their income/benefit)

Name the specific employers/ jobs that take on a great number of aged pensioners.

I don't believe that statement you made... it is easy to get private employment at 74.
