Pandemic over soon ...

with another day another 30,000+ cases within NSW the pandemic will surely end soon as they run out of the unvaccinated or will Camberra run out of unvaccinated first ?

Fortunately the South Africans were correct in evaluating Omicron as being highly infectious but relatively mild - almost effectively the fourth vaccine for those fated to contract

Re: Pandemic over soon ...

Great link!!

The part I found most interesting is the comment about how variants of covid are almost sure to arise but our best defence would be to vaccinate world wide.

Dr Tedros said if testing and vaccines are used "comprehensively", the "acute phase" of the pandemic could be ended this year.

"We can end COVID-19 as a global health emergency, and we can do it this year," he said.

"What does that look like? It means achieving our target to vaccinate 70 per cent of the population of every country [by the middle of the year] with a focus on the most at-risk groups."

He said the world would be "living with COVID for the foreseeable future".

Maybe it is time for first world countries to obsess less with talk of even 4th boosters etc and to start looking at helping some of the poorer countries have access to vaccination programs.

How would anybody know the true number of deaths given the situation in third world countries?

You do ask the right questions rogespeed but sadly in the wrong circles. Please let me explain. The truth is not really a concern with those who despise it. I'm not going to go into the reasons why this is, but you being the only person here who really has a full handle on what is reality in this issue would have some ideas!

Some of these poorer countries have had an emphasis on early stage treatments with drugs that may never in our lifetime be given their due credit. It is "a known" that with the minority of people that would die from the virus due to very advanced age, at risk category etc., a large amount respond favorably to early stage drug treatment. This info will not be displayed in the mainstream any more than Saddam's lack of connection to 911 was in the early days, or his lack of  WOMD were for a significant period of time during the invasion and ongoing occupation.

It's all about $$$$$$$$$$s and human beings can go to blazes as far as some are concerned.

Rogespeed chooses to be here and interact with the posters here. While we may not agree on all issues, he is not rude or insulting and never accuses anybody of being a member of an imaginary Circle. Please stop attempting to divide us and change the theme of this thread. It has nothing to do with Saddam Hussein. Please stick to the topic, and keep it friendly, as rogespeed does.

I'm not doing anything of the sort. I am allowed to make a comparison, draw an analogy which others have done on commentary sites in relation to this issue.

Yes, rogespeed is  very good participant and full of knowledge and IMO he does have a much better handle on this situation. He is without influence or agenda. I've always enjoyed his participation.

And with Circle that I mentioned, I meant in the circle that he is in community wise as a regular and interacts with. Nothing to do with that group. I am in that same circle (this forum)  as rogespeed is but not so much regular these days.
