Paul Simon /Sting concert, Brisbane

Help please. For some reason I thought the concert was at Southbank... but its at Doombsal or Boomball.

It's at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre... I spose Public transport and taxis okay on the night?? Should we get accommodation close to the area or stay in the CBD? We were going to make a big night or two of it and stay at Rydges Southbank as I thought it was right next door doh. We usually stay at the Oaks Charlotte, all a pit posh I know, but we're county bumpkins and honestly happy in basic three star. Its about location though and avoiding too many crowds, extra travel and queuing. Would value other peoples' experiences.

Lucky you. I love Paul Simon.

Can't help you with the accomodation, sorry. I have been past the entertainment centre when there was something big on and the traffic was horrendous ๐Ÿ˜ž

Anyone? Not so much the accommodation more so the getting there?

Transport on the night.

I seem to have an intolerant grumpy old **bleep** these days since he's hit 60. Not sure whether to laugh or cry but he doesnt travel well.

And a match made in heaven, because neither do I Smiley LOL

Bus or taxi from the city is fine. The hotel can help with that, so just ask when you book.

It is at Boondal.

Re: Paul Simon /Sting concert, Brisbane

There would be closer accommodation, just google some near Boondall but this translink website will allow you to choose the day and time and then show you the best option from Southbank. There is one of those Formula 1 motels near the airport too.

Re: Paul Simon /Sting concert, Brisbane

Thanks azureline. I did that and then came unstuck and thought I would ask the locals.

So is it a **bleep** fight on public transport?

And are taxis hard to get,

We have stayed at Airport Clayfield, very very clean, cheap shuttle service, but on a different line. Do all the train lines connect on the night do you know? Works for us to stay there if its close enough to the venue.

Hi tttt and a very happy 2015 to you and your family tttt, โ™ฅ

The suburb is Boondall and it is a fair way from the city to be catching a taxi at the time night you need to be seated. Traffic could be real b i t c h!

Maybe look at the northern suburbs; You have the Airport motels up to Virginia Palms International at Virginia - Wotif dot com have a few good listings

Don't forget the Stayz sites for self contained cottages as well - here's one in Sandgate that's on the beach and only two burbs away from the Entertainment Centre;

stayz.com.au/brisbane-north/81962

I hope this helps. xo

Here's a tip;

If you insist on staying in the city then it would be cheaper to book a Limousine - return trip.
