He moved priests because they were accused of molesting children. There have been number of accusations against him over the years. Unfortunately, most of these men were either unable to bring themselves to go to court, or some are dead. I watched part of the doco the other day; the man who talked about what Pell did to him was very believable.
I imagine was a little complex defining relationships and pleasing everyone including one's self in those days , Anglican-British centric community normalities vs the Catholic world view, as Rome decreed age of consent as being 13 years , and they are Rome's children... but times have changed

But Father Vincent Ryan was not accused of these crimes....George Pell was.
I have always thought that Pell is guilty of something but not of the crimes he was charged with.
You cannot convict the man of "something" without absolute proof of that particular crime.
I didn't reference Pell but I was speaking about the inherent abuse in the Catholic
church which was covered up over many years.
As it was in the Anglican church and many other organizations

That boy died of guilt by denying the abuse he would
have died believing he hadn't disappointed his Mother.

Unanimous High Court Ruling ( 7 Judges all with vast experience) far outweighs the supreme court ruling.
How therefore can one have faith in the Justice System when the Supreme Court can appoint two inexperienced judges in such an important appeal? How can one truly be confident that justice has prevailed? I accept the High Court decision, but the fractures in System leave that element of doubt.
an interesting point in all this is that every court that viewed the video (including the appeals board) evidence given by the victim convicted Pell... but the HC did not view the video

On Wednesday, the High Court took an interest in what is essentially a technicality: should the court of appeal have watched the videotaped evidence given by the victim at trial.
Justice Virginia Bell questioned why the full bench had not been invited to watch the same evidence.
"Why are we being taken to selected portions of the transcript?" Justice Bell asked.
"And why aren't we getting the whole transcript?"

No he didn't.
When his mother recognised all the classic saigns of abuse in his downward spiral, she asked whether he'd been abused, and he denied it. She didn't believe him, but didn't push it any frurther.
Pell's name never came into it.

His Mother spoke of this scenario during an interview on TV.
