Pet hates

Anything out there that annoys you?

I'll share one of my pet hates, I struck it just last night... again.

You know those recipe sites you can look up, where people leave a comment and star rating for a recipe?

I like the sites, I use them a lot and I like to have a look at the rating/comments too, to assess if a recipe is worth trying. They can be really useful.

But the comments I hate are the ones that give 5 stars and say what a fantastic recipe it is then sneakily say at the bottom, 'I just added these other 14 ingredients and halved the amount of whatever and it was perfect.'

Grr, that's not the same recipe then, is it!!

It reminds me more of this:

Re: Pet hates

These products don't taste bad, but why call them not-duck, not-chicken etc.? This is hilarious...

Re: Pet hates

My big thing is the dislike of the overuse of the word "that".

The person "that"  walked out for example. The word should be who, not that!

It drives me mad and even madder when it is in a book or a news article written by people who should know better.

It sort of assumes the vegetarian knows exactly what real ducks, chickens etc taste like.

Re: Pet hates

Yes. Maybe some do if they become vegetarian, but there are also kids who are born into a vegetarian family, grow up vegetarian and really have no idea what meat tastes like (as kids or adults).

Re: Pet hates

Did some washing today - what's with blue pegs ???.

I pet hate coloured pegs.

I had all green at one time - the sun finally did them in - only loud colours now.

Not good for my CDO.

Re: Pet hates

My OCD makes me use pegs of the same colour as the items I use them for (or as similar as possible).

I hate it when the colours don't match! Maybe it is indeed better to use grey or black pegs/neutral pegs (I bought some at Bunnings not too long ago) in order to avoid disappointment.

Re: Pet hates

No pics.

But here are the absolute OCD rules for sock hanging -

Socks must be hung next to it's pair, pegged at the toe,  using the same coloured peg for each pair, and the heels must all face the same direction.

That way they could be folded when put back in the basket, ready to be put away in the drawer.

To be honest, I absolutely had, had to use up all the pegs of the same colour before I could start on another colour.

These days, I only use the dryer.   My hanging days are over.

Re: Pet hates

I was already hanging them *exactly* like that without even knowing the rules. It must be my OCD I guess. 🙂
