Peter Beattie to Stand for the ALP in QLD

Bit of a surprise, eh?  

It says in the link that he had vowed to never enter politics again, but some time ago I heard him say that he had left politics too early.  

Anyway, he's always been one of my favourite pollies.

He said some people may say.

He and Kevin both spoke incredibly well

He was saying in relation to the people doing it tough in ford, he spoke about how he was the youngest of 7 and his mother died when he was 4, then went on to say he was raised by his grandmother and that education was the key to his success in life.

It really was very genuine.

Well I can sort of see where he was coming from, but I must say it shocked me that a labour canditate would say that. I don't think it was terribly clever. Lots of ppl come from disadvantaged situations, and are never able to rise above. For them being working class is something to be proud of.

I think because he was speaking about himself or in relation to himself it came across ok. His responses were very down to earth and he complimented rudd on rising above the past and putting Qld first.

apparently he had an affair with a minister... she broke it off with him and he was so angry he put a bypass right through her electorate so she would lose. She did lose.... she then demanded a nice job or she would come forward with the truth and expose the reason for the bypass... 

She was charged with blackmail... 

I think there is a hush hush clause in the court case... no one really knew the full details... 

Personally I wish we all knew the truth, the whole truth... 

This man is a two faced as the rest of the ALP...... 

And people think he is good because he can talk in front of a camera and sound wonderful...... This ALP party is all about how they look and not about substance.

The preselected member had no idea this was coming... 

The ALP were polling all over QLD to see the best seat... they even polled where I live...  They are desperate for a win they used a captains pick to oust a good hard working man.. they stabbed him in the back before he even had a chance... 

Beattie was not even living there... he moved into his brothers house this morning... he is only going to buy there if he wins the election... 

This is not about the people or the community.. it is about the ALP....

Whatever it takes eh, by all the gushing luvvies.

He came out a few weeks ago & called for Rudd to quit the party, go,  leave politics because he was a lying white anter that brought ruin on the party.

So much for political principles, they couldn't find one if they fell over it. A bit like the luvvies, whatever it takes to win & don't worry about how corrupt they look, how pathetically morally bankrupt they are, never mind the hypocrisy & double standards.
