The fuschia's thrive in cooler climates, simone. I wonder if they are sold in garden centres near you? The staff there may know more.

They are fairly easy to grow from cuttings also.

Re: Pink Photo Comp chat thread

Thanks am*3.  Might have to check out the local nurseries.  I looked on the Bourke's backyard website and it looks like far north Qld is not suitable to grow them.  Lucky I don't live there then lol.  It does say if temp is in the 20's, they need watering twice and day and if temp is in the 30's, water 3 times a day.

Now if I could just find someone who grows them that  I can get a cutting off.

Re: Pink Photo Comp chat thread

My fuschias are thriving. In Melbourne too. Neglect and sheer laziness seemed to suit them.

sad blinking emoticon  They might be now, amber, but it broke my heart to lose them.

The drought in Melbourne went on for way too long.  And the summers were

too hot.   Water restrictions meant only watering every 2nd day.

They would be fine now.  We have water now.

Re: Pink Photo Comp chat thread

They look nice in hanging baskets, but you have trim them back a little.

They dont care if you use left over dish water, or water from Washing machine
