Does anyone know what plant this is please? the leaves are abt 5cm long and maybe 2cm wide, silver/green on one side, and purple on the other. I know it's fairly common but want to know its name and what sort of care it needs.

I have that variety. I am in Sydney and mine stays under control in a couple of baskets. It is really beautiful in summer as its pattern makes it nice,it also gets lovely blue flowers all over it in summer.
If you are in a cold area it will die back in winter and die in frost I was told .I have noticed it sort of going dormant in winter and a sudden flush around spring so dont worry its not dying.
Mine is in full sun half the day and thrives with a good water.
Give it some Thrive or similar in spring to autumn and trim occasionally as it will grow stragly over time ,just stick trimmed ends back in pot.
it is a comercial variety I see bunnings sell it for about $20a pot

Thanks amalan, nice to see someone else has taste here.
(not pointing at anyone, snicker )
I'm in Melbourne and right now it's freezing and I don't get full sun, so might keep it inside for a while. Will also check it out at Bunnings.
