How do you know he wasn't reaching for the gun in order to show the cops it was only a toy? He was 12 years old, it probably didn't occur to him that they would shoot him.
Oh, and he wasn't walking up and down the street, he was waving it around in a park - and the guy who called the cops told them it was probably a fake.

I saw the video, he appeared to be in a park?
He was 12.
I think it's a good reason to ban toy guns.

Better to ban real ones IMO

I'm pretty sure the boy only pulled up his shirt, not "pulled out his gun" as the cop suggests. To show them where it was, the poor kid was probibly scared half out of his mind. Granted, he had no bussiness with even a toy gun at that location, did the kid deserve to be killed over a mistake?

i was thinking of the parents too, perhaps a lack of guidance in that area
the kid didn't deserve to die over it, i believe the police could've handled to situation better
musta been easier for them just to shoot
