For a couple of months I have had pains in my wrists and ankles (joints). Mainly when I wake up or am still for a while. It takes about 30mins to feel less 'stiff' in the mornings and about 10mins other times.
I don't have any type of arthritis or osteo problems.
Today someone mentioned this is a common pre menopausal symptom.
Is this true?

I don't believe so, how do you know you don't have arthritis? I thought I didn't too but when I had xrays to find the source of my pain in wrists and ankles, it showed I did in almost every joint.

az - I had xrays in my hands not that long ago. No arthritis. Plus the stiffness is mainly in my wrist joint and ankles rather than the most usual place for arthritis in finger joints.
joz - why would it be muscular? I'm not doing anything that would strain my musles in any way.

hmmmmm using a keyboard?
Plus you can get arthritis in any joint, and fingers are not the first to show the effects of it.

poor sleeping postures and poor postures in general will cause pain (muscular skeletal problems)
but if youre fully aware about this and are in perfect posture 24/7 or have leanrt how to correct posture, then it could be something else

It is very odd for me, I have no stiffness in my finger joints or knees, the ankle with the most arthritis is not the most painful either. I also have it in my spine yet no pain etc there either. (my OH said it is because I run everywhere but I told him I use both feet equally, not just 1)
Does your doctor have any idea?
Personally I think we get pain in joints as we age and menopause is a convenient scapegoat. What do men blame it on?

No dry eyes. Is that an arthritis symptom?

I haven't really gone back to the doctor. When I first started to get the pains I thought it was arthritis so he xrayed my hands and feet but said all was clear. Not sure what an xray sees...
