Would appreciate some advice please. I've got a rash across my chest and back and it is driving
me crazy. I've tried creams and lotions to cool it down and get some relief, also had anti histamines, it
hasn't seemed to have improved. Don't think I'll be able to make work in the morning
Some suggestion on what to use would be greatlly appreciated.

Have an Oatmeal bath i.e Dump some oats into a bath of water and sit in that. Oats are really good for itchy and sensitive skin.
Bi carb soda in a bath also works or you could mix it into a paste and apply it to your skin..

Maybe shingles usually in a broadish band under the bust and can go across the back in a similar line.........very painful and itchy

I got a cold like virus a few weeks back and had a rash all over....
Had to go to emergency as I was on antibiotics and wanted to make sure it was not a reaction to them...
apparently it was going around and there was nothing I could do.. it lasted a week...

shingles wont cross over the midline. Its on either the right side of the body or the left side of the body, but not crossing over the midline.
Also, not itchy, but painful.
I really doubt it is shingles.

Forget work, make an appointment for the doctor or go to see the chemist, they can be very helpful

I have to disagree Jane. I had shingles when I was 14 and it was most definitely both itchy and painful

Find a chemist who stocks the old-fashioned Condy's Crystals and make up a strong solution. Swab with that. Great stuff.

All good advice but make sure it's not a reaction to a new medication, as cat
mentioned. If you have started a new med then you need to get this checked out
quickly. A chemist can tell you if you need to see a doc.
Sounds really unpleasant.

Try a spray on deodorant ... if it's due to sweating, that could help. Have a tepid shower first.
