Has anyone ever used it to make Pesto?
Was it any good? Did you make any adjustments to your recipe?

It looks amazing eh?
I love basil too, any particular type which is your favourite? I saw about 10 different varities in the last few days, I never knew there were so many!
Only ever knew Basil and Purple basil, but never used the purple basil for anything other than garnish. But will experiment with it over the next few weeks as I just bought a few Purple basil Plants.
but they even had basil Mint? I'm like - what's the point in that? Not really too sure what to do with THAT one, except maybe a sorbet or something?
Oh, and I found some black chervil. (oh, and there are 7 different types of chervil too - I never knew that either - I like it cos it looks beautiful and delicate, never actually used iot for flavour and never anticipated that anyone would actually eat it LOL

I didn't know it came in purple.
Did you buy it or are you growing it? Does it taste the same?
Will be looking for it on my next grocery shop.

try the stores in my post above - they had heaps of it and heaps of different varieties just yesterday - an entire two rows of a motza of different herbs and garden veges.
i was like a kid in Disneyland, never knew there were so many different types or varieties of what i did know, available to the general public.

Purple basil would be OK with same recipe. It has a lovely scent, I remember buying sone once and the nice smell wafting around in the car on the way home.
Yes, I'll give it a go, I can't detect any difference in the taste when i ate the leaves, but thought some kind of chemical reaction with the purple stuff might occur and change the flavour if i did different things to it.
Just need to wait a few days till the plants get over the shock of me replanting them last night, before i start cutting them up LOL
I hope that oregano doesn't hurt dogs. I planted about 30 different herbs and the dogs ate the oregano! Didn't touch anything else, just the oregano???
Lucky they didn't nibble on the chillis on the chilli plant I guess.
Got an amazing Chilli Plant, it seriously has lots of different coloured chillis on the one plant, red, yellow, green, black, purple. (and a few brown ones which I think are dead LOL)
Does anyone know if the seeds from these will reproduce multi coloured plants, or if they came from a purple one for instance, my new plant will only produce purple ones?
