Q for Martini.... or anyone who knows colours

We got tiles for the bathroom that were on sale at a hardware store that was closing. It was only after they were attached to the walls that it became apparent that they are not an exact colour match.  They are the same tiles, with a subtle difference. One lot has a slight grey tinge while the other looks more cream. 

The question is what colour paint would be best to avoid emphasising the difference?

They're large white tiles with a slight marble effect.  White paints seem to highlight the difference.

The plan was to go a whitish shade but that is what highlights the difference.    Maybe a taupe shade would suit better.

I like the idea of wallpaper but those doing the work don't  😄

But I AM MILDLY interested. I don't mind that basket-weave taupe Martini showed, but I'd be worried about wallpaper lifting at the corners.

If it was me I'd be painting it in the palest shade of blue or aquamarine.

My two cents.
It seems such a narrow strip of wall, I'd be going for something dramatic. Give it a shot - if you don't like it it's only another paint job away.

My concern is that blues/aquas would highlight the difference..... unless we can find the right aqua.  It stands out most when the heating light is on, probably because it's a much more intense light.   I'll get more samples and stick them to the wall to compare in all lights  😄

The corner bit that looks like a cut out is the mirror, it must be reflecting the door or window frame

The other wall has a larger section to be painted but yep, I'm with you. I think bold would be good.   The young ones a re a bit more conservative though  :D:D

I liked the orange WA house rules wall before they painted it pale aqua   😄  

and the laundry mural before they "fixed it"

i couldn't live with mismatched tiles unless

i was able to create some kind of a pattern

so it appeared to be deliberate.

Not worth it.  It's a small cheap ex-houso rental house.

If I'd been around at the time I would have noticed and put all the odd ones on one wall and the rest on the others   😄

Just thinking, but could you put a stencil of something on the coloured tiles? Then it could be a random feature..? 

All white bathrooms are dated because they can look cold and clinical..
