Radio host Ben Fordham's claims Ms Gillard was being investigated by police

2GB host Ben Fordham told his listeners today he wanted to correct comments made by Ms Gillard during an interview in March that canvassed the AWU case.

Fordham said the police were still taking statements and had asked him to make a formal statement relating to the March 7 interview.

Courier mail today.

:^O really? would police really do that?

on another note, I just don't believe anything our PM says anymore, I don't know if the alternative will be any better but it can't be worse and I think only fair he is given a chance, she was and failed.

This is where I don't agree.

I don't think the PM has been given a fair chance.

The opposition has not played opposition but demolition. They have blocked and hindered at every opportunity then blamed her. They are still doing it and getting away with it. It's like the reporters have taken the lazy way out and just go along with what ever Abbott says these days.

They spend their days slagging out the PM and the press repeat what ever he says.

Why has Abbott been pretending the PM is trying to appoint a new GG when she has no right?  It is just much raking and it seems to be all he is good at.

What about the 3AAA rating? He is carrying on about this govt losing that and ignoring the fact that this govt got it.   :^O

I hope he does not win. I would like to see the NBN built, the Gonski reforms implemented, NDIS in place and the cancer centres operational before the LNP get another chance.

As the Bonge said, If  economic incompetence = low inflation, unemployment and  world rare growth, plus a triple A rating, we should have more of it.

she has had so much air time... she has been given a fair and even chance to get out and promote what she has done... if she can't even get the good things across to make the people believe in her that is her fault and no one elses...

You can't blame the opposition for her failings...

Like I heard today.. on The Drum... if the Labor party can't get a surplus with ALL of the above then there is something wrong...

Or not fighting for a surplus over the common good is how they got all those in line and a surplus can wait. Don't forget all the floods and fires they've had to fork out for as well.

The previous govt didn't get their surplus because they are great managers. They sold stuff and had a resource boom.

So much air time?

So much air time devoted to bagging her out is what we've had.

So who do we blame for the fake outrage about the GG appointment this week?

nah, sorry any analysis shows she has not been given fair exposure when compared to previous PMs.

you are so right, thank goodness they did have a surplus to start with or the deficit would be even worse than it is.

About the opposition bashing the PM, unfortunately this seems to be the norm and when the gov changes the labor bashers will do the same thing.

Honestly I hate the way they spend so much time bashing each other instead of doing what we pay them to do,running the country

Keep it nice, I might cry if you write anything upsetting (like not)

They have blown billions on what??? what have they done? where's the money? where's the roads, railways, dams, schools, universities, bridges, hospitals, anything??? Where is something to show for the billions spent & the over $250 billion debt we are left with, can anybody answer that honestly? will it be more than $250 billion?.

Incompetence doesn't even come close to describing this failed govt, criminal incompetence doesn't come close either. This lot will be slung out & no jobs for the boys will be awaiting them.

They have blown it on more red tape, more service industries that do not produce anything, more public servants & bloated bureaucratic agencies, the cash splashes to dead people, the billions wasted on school halls when our schools are falling down, the billions wasted on pink batts & then trying to fix the catastrophe that ensued.

The billions it is costing a year because of their unpicking of the safe borders policy whilst people pour in unfettered & people die right in front of our eyes. The thousands locked up for years or let out into the community but are not allowed to work

Gillard has lied from day 1, lied to keep herself in power, destroyed peoples careers in her own party & betrayed others who put her there, whilst protecting the likes of Slipper & Thomson.

This person gives Castro a bad name, she has ruined this country's political debate, ruined the political debate because she can't answer a simple question, pitted Australian against Australian, the politics of division & class war.

There is no excuse for this person, she will be remembered for one thing & one thing only, lying, never ending lying.

 Re wasteful spending .

Hey, big spender: Howard the king of the loose purse strings

DateJanuary 11, 2013
Peter Martin

Australia's most needlessly wasteful spending took place under the John Howard-led Coalition government rather than under the Whitlam, Rudd or Gillard Labor governments, an international study has found.

The International Monetary Fund examined 200 years of government financial records across 55 leading economies.

It identifies only two periods of Australian "fiscal profligacy" in recent years, both during John Howard's term in off...

The Rudd government's stimulus spending during the financial crisis doesn't rate as profligate because the measure makes allowance for spending needed to stabilise the economy.

The Whitlam Labor government of 1972 to 1975 also escapes censure.
