Hi all, I'm back from ebali & thought you might enjoy this for a laugh.
"If I say to everyone in this room: 'If you want to bid next week in our spectrum auction, you'd better wear red underpants on your head', I've got some news for you. You'll be wearing them on your head. I have unfettered legal power," he said.

well i dont know much about this guy, but he sure as heck has no business sence if he thinks he can talk to his customers like that, regardless oh how good or bad his product is, its true value is set by what the customer is willing to pay, if i were he his customer i would walk away & leave him with a big white elephant, watch what that does to his unfetted power & the value of his product

It's ok freaky... you can like him if you wish... I just can't stand him and that comment about telling people to wear red underpants on their head is a classic example of why he is not good enough to be a cabinet member...

he was not talking to his customers. He was talking to a bunch of Americans who had no idea what he was talking about as our wireless allocation system is different to what they know about.

Do you know the context in which it was said?
He made the comment at a Telco function in the USA. It was an explanation of his (as comms minister) power.
It's just another of the things that have been seized upon, 6 months after the fact, without context.
His NBN policy is the best thing for Australia so I hope this government wins the next election.
