Round Table Revisited

And so Lord of the String said unto the peoples, "Go forth anew. Seek a land you can call your own."

The people saw it was good.

So, on the last day the people said their solemn goodbyes and began the long journey to the promised new land.

And so began the new land and its people were joyous!

Welcome, to the Return of the Round Table known as...

"Round Table Revisited" (RTR)

Re: Round Table Revisited

Don't you just love walking in the rain Freddie?

Was speaking to my kin earlier, loving the rain but lamenting that it has stripped all the blossoms off the trees.  Will be a shame for those visiting gardens this weekend but it sure is welcome.  Only hope it gets to the areas most needed.

Wise move regarding your fancy smancy shoes Freddie - some will stoop so low it is not worth tempting fate Smiley Wink

You are doing so much more than me already Freddie - my walking slowed down when I split my knee open 18 months ago.  Decided that aquarobics would be better hence the pool.

You cannot rely on me to run to your aid - am past that - not even sure I could be inveigled into diving into the Manning.  Just know I would be with you in spirit Smiley Wink

Re: Round Table Revisited

Morning/afternoon or whatever Friends Smiley Happy

Guess most of you might all be acclimatising to DST.  We do not have it here in the wonderful west - not that it makes much difference to anyone not working full time.  Just a matter of getting used to the change of timing with radio programmes Smiley Embarassed

Apropos of nothing we have a fantastic green grocer over here in Freo - every Friday evening they advertise on their website their special for Saturday mornings - yesterday it was caulis for 49 cents each - a week or two ago it was broccoli for 49 cents, artichokes for 99 cents and butternut pumpkin for 9 cents each.  This is one plus of frequently anti-social media!

First Sunday of the month sees a huge growers green market here so better head off - having coffee there with friends.

Catch up later folks - stay safe ~~~~~

My garden broccolli heads are looking good.

I put them in around mid august with some snow peas.

Have heaps of snow peas. Smiley Happy

Re: Round Table Revisited

You make me jealous Kopes

Since damaging my knee I have done little planting in the garden - just maintenance really.

Snow peas and broad beans used to be favourites of mine but they rarely made it into the kitchen lol

Just heard the sad news about the passing of Quentin Kenihan in Adelaide last night.  What an amazing man he was and his advocacy for people with disabilities was incredibly powerful.

RIP Quentin

Re: Round Table Revisited

Hi Laney,

Lovely day today for the start of DLS I have been meaning to try cauli as

a fried rice substitute i've seen it on the cooking shows and have thought

it a great idea if it tastes OK. Love snow peas but broad beans I will let

you have them. I was just watching the news and heard about Quentin

very sad such a inspirational young man I still remember his interviews

as a younger child with Mike Willisee how his bones were so fragile they

would break just by being handled. Sandy and Frank are home this

afternoon.

Re: Round Table Revisited

Afternoon Freddie

I saw that Sandy and Frank were home - thanks for the heads up from you too.

Enjoyed Joanna Lumley's Silk Road Adventure last evening - such amazing scenes, such colour in the mosques, the bazaars, the carpet makers and the silk .... just spectacular.  I thought the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul were amazing but what I saw last night surpassed the mosaics and tile work I saw there.

It is available on IView for anyone interested.  Last night was the third of a series of four episodes.

Worked today so now going to put feet up for the evening.  Dentist tomorrow morning then off the the gym to recover arrrrggggggh.

Hope all are well - look forward to the house building progress reports from over yonder Smiley Wink

Exciting times!

Re: Round Table Revisited

We're off for a jaunt down to Busselton to have lunch with our favourite (one anfd only) daughter. It's a lovely day for  drive, barely a cloud in the sky. I do believe Spring has actually decided to hang around.

Re: Round Table Revisited

Hiya TGSE

I hear there was a birthday celebration a'happening yesterday and that was the reason (if anyone really needs one) to sup with favourite daughter.  I am sure you had a happy day TGSE and I wanted to add my best wishes to those you have already collected.

Did you get that 'electrifying' storm down your way last night?  A spectacular sound and light show up here and the sky this morning was almost black .... nothing much has resulted though.

Freddie I have never tried the 'cauli for rice' substitute although I have seen it referred to a number of times.  I do use it in quite a few different ways - middle eastern herbs, Israeli cous cous and broad beans (just for you lol), roasted whole and the old favourite cauli cheese.  Those old favourites hit the spot and are so easy .... rather like the zucchini slice recipe (an old favourite of my Mum's).

Sandy it was great to read that you were able to spend some time with your DD alone.  Perhaps when your new house is finished she might reconsider a visit to you.  I am sure you enjoyed the meet up with your friends - they would have really enjoyed seeing you again as they must sorely miss you.  A new car?  Seems to be the flavour of the month - our Prim just got a new one also.

Who knows Sandy - you and Frank might just decide to go to the Tamworth Country Music Festival next (not too sure about the crowds though).

Oaks your DD's home seems to be coming along well and you sound as though you are *cough cough* behaving yourself too.

Isn't karma 'interesting' Smiley Wink

Re: Round Table Revisited

I am reminded of an old Irish proverb which seems somehow appropriate:

'The tongue ties knots that the teeth cannot loosen'

'Alternative facts' do not the truth make!
