And people think this man is PM material????
But I guess he is a somebody again so it really does not matter who he pats on the head... so long as he can pat himself on the back for getting his old job back.

Stella Young can and has spoken for herself .
I think that it could be worse...imagine if he touched other people's heads as often as he touches his own when he does his fringe flick lol
If Stella Young is to be considered and heard as she should imo...a search of her name and more interestingly her name plus Tony Abbott's name is worthwhile reading especially where Stella Young and her own opinion of a suitable PM is concerned .
or perhaps start with
Dear Tony, let me tell you about my disabled career
Stella Young Ramp Up 1 Apr 2011
Disability funding is no indulgence, Mr Abbott. Stella Young

Sorry but I must correct your OP, "Rudd pats head of woman with a disability", the term disabled person is offensive to most people with a disability. I work with some people with a disability so know first hand of the appropriate description.

NS,Though I agree that that may be the case in general and so does Stella in the case of people she doesn't know ..she actually refers to herself as a Crip and a disabled person.

I did not use that phrase... it is the heading from the article...
It was not my slant but the slant of the article...

I must have missed the bit in the article where it said anything about Rudd being or not being Prime Minister material. Do you think you could point it out please? Or was that just your take on the what it meant?

Stella Young calls herself a disabled person.. ...she does not like to be referred to in the person first 'person with a disability' as though her status as a person could be/is in doubt .(she did an article for drum called I identify as a disabled person)
She isn't alone in that.
this from Lisa Egan (from the article mentioned above by Stella)
I just have a real problem with the phrase “person with a disability” and the notion of “having a disability.”
I am disabled. More specifically, I am disabled by a society that places social, attitudinal and architectural barriers in my way. This world we live in disables me by treating me like a second-class citizen because I have a few impairments — most obviously a mobility impairment.

appears that this foul-mouth stella sheila's tryin' to insinuate that kevin rudd knows nothin' about people who've got disabilities.
surely not.
she must be ignorant of the work mrs. rein does, to assist people with disabilities get back into the workforce. or the rein foundation.
she must be ignorant of the fact that therese rein's father was wheelchair-bound for many years, due to a severe spinal injury, kevin rudd most probably 'ad a thing or do with him. lol.
per'aps she's so engrossed in 'er own self-importance, that she ain't got the time to do 'er research

I think she just reacted to what she saw. Over reacted maybe, but it wasn't really a personal attack on Rudd.
She spoke out as aperson who has been patted on the head and doesn't like it.
Her first comment was: Be warned, if you pat me head I will bite you.
