too Anglicises their names.

 

I overheard a woman telling a refugee that he should anglicise his name so she could understand it .

Some of your funniest posts Stawka 😄

 

We had an Irish friend that decided to shorten his name so it was more pronouncable but it still caused him problems at work.  No one could spell it, especially the long version) and no one could pronounce it properly so at work he was known as Joe.

I had two soldiers who had shocking names.

They became Wheelbarrow 1 and Wheelbarrow 2

That was until someone Aussiesized their names, cant remember what thy were though.
One was Greek.

When the OH arrived in Australia  He was told any one with his name was called Less
