no, that's not what I meant.
i don't see the relevance of the article to your thread title.
I guess because of this?
When it came to office in 2007, Labor dropped the Howard government’s description of asylum seekers who arrived by boat as ‘‘illegal maritime arrivals’’, calling them ‘‘irregular maritime arrivals’’. It said this was done in recognition of the fact it is not illegal under Australian domestic law or international law to claim asylum. The new directive reverses this.
The email to detention centre and Serco staff also instructs them to describe asylum seekers being held in detention centres in Australia as ‘‘detainees’’ rather than as ‘‘clients’’, as they had been called under Labor.
People being held on Nauru and Papua New Guinea’s Manus Island are to be called ‘‘transferees’’, not ‘‘clients’’.

It should be more clear then because I cannot see anywhere where Morrison is saying that he thinks genuine asylum seekers should be called "illegals"
and our popular FactCheck:

But Donna they are illegals until they have been classified a asylum seekers
And by far the majority of them are economic refugees at best, jumping cue before the people who have applied through proper legal channels
.

That is not the point I am trying to make Poddy, are you a murderer or a thief just because you have been accused of being one and locked up?
I know morrison is a thief along with brandis, abbott and others because they claim expenses for going to weddings and buying books etc, but these people could be seeking asylum.

Well not exactly. He is not saying that he thinks genuine asylum seekers should be called "illegals", which is what you posted in your OP. He is referring to their illegal entry. All people who enter a country without a visa, do so without authorisation ie unlawfully/illegally. There is no dispute about that anywhere.

Why are asylum seekers detained? Why does the UNHCR have guidelines regarding Detention of Refugees? What did they do to deserve detention?
