Twitter forced to act after Iraq executions live tweeted

The Sydney Morning Herald reports graphic images of the executions of Iraqi soldiers were live tweeted by members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant as they happened late last week.

The photos showed scores of soldiers rounded up into trucks before being forced face-down in the dirt with their hands tied behind their backs before being executed by automatic weapons.

On early Saturday ISIL tweeted it had executed 1700 Shiite soldiers, but the figure has not been confirmed by human rights groups.

No. Australia should stay out of it.

But we can't. We're hooked in with the USA. By proxy with the UK.

We're in, end of ,that's it.

Well if we all ignore human rights and let evil reign in the world we should leave them alone.  Interesting that it took all of five minutes for terror to again rain on innocent people.  Where are all the people saying that the we shouldn't have intervened now?  I think we left too early.

I guess we have to decide what we stand for, the right of human beings across the planet or are we so secure in our own little realm that we would let people die without a thought. I bet if it was happening to us, if it was our sons, daughters and family being executed we would want help and quickly.

Can't imagine what those people must be going through, what a terrible way to live and exist.

Australian defence forces could once again be involved in military action in a ''rapidly deteriorating'' Iraq, Prime Minister Tony Abbott has revealed, after his first bilateral meeting with US President Barack Obama.

Mr Abbott said it was clear the security situation in Iraq was causing profound concerns and that there was now "the real prospect that al-Qaeda-type groups will be in control of large swathes of the country".

"I think America is absolutely right to be concerned and I think Australia is right to be concerned as well," Mr Abbott said.

Speaking in the Oval Office after their meeting, Mr Obama would not be drawn on whatever action would be taken in Iraq but conceded military action in the short term was likely.

He said Australians had always fought alongside Americans "and Aussies know how to fight, and I like having them in a foxhole if we're in trouble, so I can't think of a better partner".

We are not a nation by proxy with our ties to Britain to be worried about the plight of other country's suffering. We are about conquest.

Let me introduce you to the people we are discussing here.

These are people who believe you have no rights when it comes to matters of religion.  That is they require that you believe what they believe in the manner they prescribe, and any failure or refusal to do so, if you’re lucky, will get you a bullet to the back of the head and if not (lucky that is) slow decapitation with a blunt knife.

These are people who believe women are a commodity which can be bought or sold with their only value to society being their ability to bear children and cook and clean house. Therefore education is wasted on then (women that is) and those women who object, well, another bullet to the back of the head or worse.

These are people whose chosen half time entertainment at sporting events is the stoning to death of women who are suspected of committing adultery, and there only needs to be a suspicion – usually created by a husband who wants to get rid of an unwanted wife.

So do you say we should go in and sort them out – you bet we should?
