Should the Burqa and Niqab be banned in Australia?

I didn't realize that Abbott wearing speedos at the beach had anything to do with women wanting to wear a burqa. What, he staged a protest and said that he would continue to wear his speedos until such time as those who wore burqas surrendered them? I never knew that and expected a higher standard of behaviour from a Prime Minister, especially ours.

I dont know if the money is helping to fund terrorist groups or not, but i do know that they are charging companies up to and at least $30 000 a month for that symbol to be on our foods.

I do know there is no way a company paying that would not be passing on the cost to consumers.

I do know that i personally am against the way animals are slaughtered just to make the meat Halal.

I am not anti Muslim and I am not against Muslim people having Halal food. I am against halal certified foods being the norm for the 96% of us that don't seek it, and in most cases are unknowingly supporting it.

That's the part I didn't understand. Why it was such a big deal, just because the PM wears speedos? I think a lot of men of that generation do, especially with an aquatic background as that was pretty much the standard attire for those kinds of activities "in the old days" and is still the standard attire for many aquatic pursuits today.

Then the women of Australia are free to say of speedos ' I wish Abbott ( or dude over 40*)wouldn't wear them, I feel confronted when I see them being worn.

* not being ageist, young guys don't wear them for casual swimwear.

all marketing costs are passed onto consumers, whether they be "made in australia", "99% fat free", "Jamie Oliver recommends this" "spend $20 and collect a sticker" "salt reduced" "no artificial colours or flavours" etc

To me it seems to be a standard marketing ploy to attract a specific target group

I wasn't objecting to your opinion, just trying to understand why it is considered to be a bad thing.

The throats of animals are cut instead of stunning? That is common practise on farms and hunting grounds throughout Australia. Ever seen how a farmer prepares a chicken for consumption? They don't shoot them in the head or stun them, just chop off their heads with an axe.

I don't see how those practises are anymore barbaric than what already occurs throughout Australia.

Don't be fooled into thinking that the introduction of the stun gun in commercial production chains has anything to do with humane considerations, it is simply a more cost effective method of slaughter. They stun the animals because it is quicker, easier and cleaner, and thus more financially efficient, not because of any concerns for the well being of the animals. They just hide the intent of increased revenue behind a clever marketing strategy to make their product more appealing to the consumer.

So there is a bump where the **bleep** pokes out (if the man is lucky LOL). Penises are not scary things, most males do have them. What is the difference between a bump in clothing caused by a flacid **bleep** and those caused by breasts? They are just a regular part of the body.
