Sineater - psst...in here

I just watched Materchef  US Season 5 Episode 1

(Thought I better start a new thread and not hijack the Australian one)

Plus we can add Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares to this one too.

oh! sorry,i misunderstood that,gladkrav! 🙂

stawka's spot on,you should always try to use gloves for foods than can stain your hands. being ridiculously fairskinned, i have to also be careful with red onions,or purple cabbage or kale. and carrots, omg,my hands turn bright orange if i don't wear gloves, lol!

BTW sin,  I always use food gloves when making that beet(root) salat.

I grate it, not slice it.  So ya don't want purple hands for days

It's not a sweet tasting salad either.  Goes even better on our burgers.   lol

Oh, I forgot to mention that bacon should be on that Aussie burger as well

(richo - naughty boy.   Yanks don't know our meaning)

don't be so sure on THAT one, i used to work in a very inmteresting shop in boston..right on the edge of the combat zone,in the late 70's,lol!

Joz, I know this is going to sound strange, but I think pickled beets smell a little bit like dirt, that the rain has just fallen on. Fresh beets are yummy. My sister grows them in her garden. They don't smell like dirt to me... which is funny, because they come straight out from the dirt, and into the pan.

it does sound a bit odd

maybe change brands Man LOL

my mother prepares fresh small beetroot as a side salad on it's own with a meal..too

no idea how she prepares it, but it goes down well

Re: Sineater - psst...in here

Nope, never have. It never even crossed my mind to put a beet on a burger.

Your people must have been hard up for veggies at the time someone suggested that.

Maybe during a famine or something, way back in the dark ages? :smileytongue:

dunno how it came about

i wouldnt go believing everything you hear though

maybe it was because of a willingness to experiment and try something different LOL

Stawka, I know what richo is talking about. 😉

We root(cheer) for our favorite teams here, and the Ozzies laugh their heads off over that phrase.
