I have not researched it but it sounds logical to lay flat when on your back, there is no reason to have your head elevated.
that would depend on if you dont suffer from neck problems in a extended position.
lying on your back without support would place your neck in a cupped extention position, what ive read & studied.. 95% of the population would suffer from that position.
(you could be that other 5% or then again you might not, you mightnt have slept in that possy long enough to be aware it affects you or you simply dont understand the mechanics of the human condition:-D

i have no luck sleeping without a pillow Donna, i tried everything btw, and the first time i ditched the pillow i thought i was getting relief from that too, but alas ..nope, was only short term.
in the long term..good for you if you dont require a pillow at all.

If it worked stick to it Donna .
i sleep with 4 pillows ..2 just like grumpy said ..one between my knees and one tucked into the small of my back ..
just get them all set up and comfy then i have to get up and go to the loo and have to start again :_|
