So now We are "One". What does that mean?
Does it mean we now recognise we are a multicultural society and do not support racism? Does it mean will will no longer discriminate between the ethnic races? Will we advocate for financial equality for all Australians where people do not get extra benefits because of their race? Will all Australians take the knee when white, black or ethnic Australians suffer a wrongful death because all lives matter? Will the historical resentment and hate heal?
Somehow I don't think so.

You may have a point there. Also if you ask a proud Irishman, Scotsman or Welshman if they are British they would say No Way!
Others there who are British by birth but their history come from India, West Indies, Hong Kong etc..have had their historical countries plundered by people posing as English who never gave a damn about the common English, Scot etc..,

They would certainly object to being called English, but I don't think most of them have a problem with being British (and only the 6 Northern counties of Ireland are British anyway). Mind you, the effects of Brexit well may change a few minds. The Chief Minister for Scotland is already making ominous rumbles.

Henry Tudor was Welsh.
And - keep in mind Charles, Anne, Andrew & Edward - are half Greek.

What I am saying is that the system is still corrupt. It is also biased against Indigenous Australians. The representative for the corrupt and biased system is the mainstream media which is nothing more than an information mill to control how people think. Fix that and then folks may start to wake up.
What the British govt and the royal family have done, be it dealing in opium, plundering other countries is nothing to do with your heritage unless you want it to be. The Royal family are not even British.
What Rudd did was a start. What Gough Whitlam did was a start. What Malcolm Fraser did by distancing himself from the bigotry of the counterfeit conservative Liberal Party and resigning in disgust was a bold statement.
BTW: Actually seeing someone made accountable (Not in your lifetime buddy say some) for Australia's dirty shame of "Deaths in Custody" would be two steps in the right direction.
Now I am confused. You wrote in message 18...
"Before any anthem can be considered there needs to be a re-discovery of actual history. There also needs to be an awakening. People should know about the conquorer and who and what they really were."
Do you really think the indigenous people are upset about British history involving opium and plundering? They are upset about their history where the "conqueror" invaded their country, murdered their people and stole their land. And they are equally upset that some current Australians are proud to be associated with this history and feel no shame.
If there needs to be an "awakening' then we need to focus on "actual history" and recognise what and who the "conquerors" really were. We will never be "One" if we cannot understand Australian history from the experiences of the indigenous people.

Ummm I don't think so.
Philip's paternal great grandfather was Christian lX of Denmark.
Christian's son,(Philip's grandfather) was born Vilhelm of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg in copenhagen on 24 December 1845
In March 1863 he was elected King by the Greek Governmet - who had deposed their own King, Otto - and took the name George, becoming King George 1st of Greece.
Vilhelm/George married a Russian Princess, Olga Constantinova.
Their son, Andrew (Philip's father) married Princess Alice of Battenburg - a great granddaughter of Queen Victoria.
Despite the title, I don't see too much Greek blood in any of that line.

When speaking of the British Royal Family not being British - of course to be in line they had to be related.
Think 4chann's ramblings were where they were born - George 1 - 52nd in line - but Protestant.
Phil was born in Greece.

Being born in Greece doesn't make him Greek though, any more than if I was born in China to Aussie parents, I wouldn't be Chinese.
Parents/Lineage determines your race, not necessarily the country in which you were born.

This thread seems to have taken a turn...somewhere.
Are we now talking heritage/lineage or just plain Nationality?
Cos there's a difference.
