Icyfroth, dont you get that everyone in the public eye is caricatured and it can be amusing even if it is someone you like. So what if Abbots big ears and budgie smugglers are pointed out and laughed at? I'm sure Abbot isn't crying hiomself to sleep at night (although he may cringe when he hears the word suppository) He is the one who got the main job, let us Aussies enjoy laughing at him as we have with every other politician and member of the Royal family.

And actually icy, if you are going to carp on about what the MAJORITY of Australians want then you might want to look at the figures a little more closely.

The MAJORITY of Auistralians voted for the Australian Labor Party by quite a significant number.

So if it wasn't that the National Party prostituted themselves in 2008 by merging with the Liberal Party (after being rejected by the Democrats), then the Liberal Party would be sitting back on the opposition benches for the next 3 years.

The Senate result is closer to a 'real' result EVEN with the Nationals thrown into the mix.

Yes Karen. We had to "get over it" when Ms Gillard and Mr Rudd were in power. Except when their ineptness was too apparent to be "got over"

I guess we just have to be fair. That means two years of copy paste rants from left wing media publications, creation of insulting names such as juliar to be typed repeatedly in ALL CAPS and bold red font, and an average of 14 threads on page one at any one time?

It's seriously rich that you all have your knickers in a knot about calling the man an idiot after the garbage we have had to hear for 1-2 years. And in particular the vileness directed personally at Julia Gillard.
