If they have wired speakers with a bit of length & you know a radio ham you could get him to come round with a transmitter & run up and down the freq till you resonate in his speakers then do it @ 3 am for a week.:-)

Hi everyone, Many months ago someone started a thread asking about sound proofing windows. I can't remember who it was and I can't find the thread. I am curious what they eventually did. I'm also interested in anyone who has done DIY soundproofing of windows, did it work? Was it expensive? How hard/easy was it to install?
I totally understand your "pain". I'll be moving shortly and a big reason....the most inconsiderate neighbours I've ever seen. It's expensive where I live and I don't pay this kind of money to keep my windows shut and the A/C on all summer.
They're aloud to keep backetball hoops at the curb and two families next door and across the street both have kids that dribble sun up to sun down, yelling, screaming....in the street. A basketball being dribbled creates that same low frequency. Unfortunately even the most soundproof windows won't stop it...it'll just go right through your walls. You'd need to open the walls, insulate, special wall board, then put this material on the walls....basically create a sound proof studio musicians use.
You should at least try talking to the guy...he might surprise you and understand.

Deb, I have a specific collection of Pink Floyd, Santana, Queen, and Yes tracks with some extremely loud low-frequency bass riffs which I boost with my graphic equaliser.
Aside from the cannon in Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, there's just not enough bass in classical music (perhaps with the exception of some of Gustav Mahler's works).
He probably likes those groups....I'd be tapping my feet going to sleep! ๐
Here's a few with deep drawn out bass that I use to adjust sub amps....take a ride in my truck and I can actually break up gall stones with these....
The lyrics in this one are perfect to get a message across and the bass is relentless...
The name of the group, CD, and song title fits perfectly....Manic Cure!
Again perfect lyrics...."bring the noise....did you hear that beat?....that's not even the worst of it"...and again great bass.
He'll beg you to stop! ๐

......to break gall stones.
I have been in a situation within a building, where I didn't hear any music but felt the "earth move" due to doof doof.
My query to cq in regard to genre of music was based on the "removal of undesirables by Barry Manilow" method or " classics" which are used around mall entrances, etc.

Thanks for posting those Fear Factory tracks, Jimmy.
The bass in them is absolutely appalling and they'll make worthy additions to my retaliatory track list.

I have considered blasting them with the Seekers at times
In a similar vein, you might also consider letting them have a dose of some Leonard Cohen as well.
Not too much though, just in case they become so depressed that they end up topping themselves...

thanks for the laughs everyone.
ATM I'm putting up with it, if I do anything it will most likely be a very polite request to turn down the music via an annoymous letter.
Its nice to know others have the same evil thoughts of revenge I do ๐

I thought about writing an annonymous letter. I'd love to hear how that goes if you decide to do it happyroo.
My neighbours are doof doof dufuses. How people could be so inconsiderate is just beyond me. I've thought about calling their real estate agent and complaining to them. Because it's that bad I've been looking into moving house just to get away from them.

All this because a neighbour decides that playing loud doof doof music anywhere between 7am to 8.30am every weekday is ok. And no I can't approach them directly, they are liable to tell me to get stoofed and then cause trouble
Looking back, that is a strange time for a "doof doof music appreciator" to play that music.
Are they covering up some other noise making apparatus?
Is that the time they get home from work?
Present them with a neighbourly gift of headphones?
It's better than jack hammers all day
