Can`t remember the last time I experienced such a storm as last night.(Melb) Thankfully no damage done but I was wondering how others fared.

So glad things are ok at your household now.  

I must admit, we had a planned electricity outage earlier on in the week, it was my day off. I made a 2 x loaf of bread and had a couple of cuppa’s before it went off at 0900hrs then I was like…ok…what do I do now? 😂.

In all honesty, I got a bloody lot done…… some Reno’s, some painting, some gardening, it was a great thing….

 Except I was busting for a cuppa 😂

Power came back on at 1430hrs.  First thing I did was boil the jug. I could have gone out to the camper and retrieved the gasmate, but I didn’t bother.  Was glad to get stuff done. 

Happy to hear your internet is back on.  We need you 💋

I know a lot of people do it, especially at 4.50 am on a quiet shift, but its still theft from your employer. And just to be on the safe side, it might pay to check your blood pressure, next time you are at work, the language and phrasing in your recent posts indicate you are not travelling very well at the moment.

 no i,m not being sarcastic, genuine concern believe it or not, its pretty clear there has been a change in posting style for the worse lately. I can appreciate if you really are a nurse ( as you say some people make stuff up on social media ) you may genuinely be feeling the pressure of COVID  and may genuinely not be travelling well at the moment. Either way its probably time to take a pill and calm down a bit   🙂

Must say, I am enjoying my internet being connected again.

Some of the stuff I do, a mobile pohone screen just doesn't cut it.

Sounds as if you really achieved a lot before your 9am outage!

What you needed was something I bought myself a few weeks back. Thermos travel mugs.

They are advertised as keeing hot drinks hot for 7 hours.

I go for a walk once a week with a friend and we stop half way round in the bird hide and have a coffee.

So far, the mugs really do live up to their promise!

Im not sure why you’re blaming my ‘language’ as the reason….. I’ve always written this way. BUT if you care to scroll back a few posts, and look closely, and I do mean CLOSELY…. You will see that it was you who escalated things with the calling me a thief in BIG RED LETTERS.

Now…… what I do for work is none of you’re business and what I do at work is also none of your business!

One of the friends with whom I caught up today has power still out; it will be until Friday, apparently. (Cockatoo area.)

I’ve said it before… it could have been so much worse, with houses destroyed, family injured or killed… I’m very grateful to our SES teams who worked tirelessly in atrocious conditions to make things safe in the aftermath of the storm, and to restore power to the various hubs as they’re able.

update: we've had machinery in the house now, for over a week (air-blowers & de-humidifiers running 24/7) driving me mad.....damage to ceilings & cornices, tops of walls....garage has 2 alcynite sheets that have ruddy great holes in them....roofer & assessor only came today....no offer of tarp covering....wait your turn! Expecting rain for next 4 days...might be a contents claim, soon.

Gratefully, no damage to contents of house (otherwise I would have shut store)

God, it's a mess - they (and I) are hoping machinery can be gone by next Monday....geez (that'll be 12 days)...on the way to industrial deafness
