Just something to be aware of -
The artificial sweetner Xylitol is safe for humans, but is very dangerous to dogs. It only takes micro gramms per kilogram to risk poisoning dogs. The effect is similar to a low glucose diabetic episode in humans and can be fatal if left untreated.

Best thing is to reduce your intake of sugar.
I've lost twenty six kilograms and kept it off and am still a diet controlled diabetic for eight years by being sensible with sugar.
I haven't eliminated it completely but have sugar free days for most of the week and only have a small amount when I do
That's fantastic, marwi!.What a great effort.
Added sugar doesn't do anyone's health any favours.

It's not in your head at all.
Those medications are strong and people's bodies do react differently.
My husband has diabetes and a few years back, he ended up in intensive care from his diabetic medication. He had taken it okay for a few years & then he suddenly had an anaphylactic reaction to it.
Me, I can't take anything with aspirin. I could for most of my life & then suddenly I started to have allergic reactions to it.
You are probably much better off just with lifestyle changes like you have done, and perhaps a good naturapath if you need a supplement.
