Take Care.... QLD flooding again.

To all of those in QLD facing floods again good luck.

140mm in my back yard last night. Roads flooded already and no let up on the near horizon.

Take care, have your emergency plans ready to enact.

They are opening up the dam gates down Brisbane way in preparation....

Fat lot of good those two would be - turns out camels don't really like wet feet - we had to bribe them over the soggy paddock up to higher ground with all their favourite treats.

Soul, the poddys made me feel sooooo guilty.  Every time I walked out the door they'd cry at me "Mummy feed us, we're sooooo hungry". Of course they have heaps of paddock (and hay, and calf pellets) to eat, but they lurve their milk. These are the first poddys we've ever had, so it's hard for us to harden our hearts to them, especially the two little ones who I have fallen in love with.

I loved looking after my old neighbours poddy, he'd come running when he saw me.

Then they had a BBQ 😐

Soul, I can understand your difficulties and frustration. There does seem to be things to which there may not be answers as yet.People wanting to know where they can get food, when they'll be food, how many people are isolated cut off completely from all forms of communication and how they are managing ...those people wouldn't have a clue what's going on (if things are likey to get worse,if any efforts are being made to rescue them and when and if any help will come.So many unknowns when such extreme events happen. It may not answer everyone's questions or help everyone (different things may interest/help different people in different ways)and a discussion board doesn't have to ..if certain info isn't out there of course it won't be found on CS...unless those who know what is going on in a certain are add it..or even ask it.The links in the ABC site and those in qld alert site may be the best place to look for/ask that ? and pass on info to as well.

If it helps at all to know people are trying...well they are.If it helps at all to know that some people care...well they do.I hope that you all have what you need soon.

Efforts are being made it seems, so much needs to be done,so many people need help.I saw trucks parked at Miles on the TV this am.They can't get through with their loads. They are waiting until they can.No one knows when that will be but they are trying. One truckie said that they were told that certain roads were clear only to find that they weren't and they had to turn back.I'd assume and hope that that info is passed on so that others are made aware...so that that info is available.

Koko,Glad that you are OK.You sound as though you were very prepared and are all the better for it.

This warning was put out by the mayor this morning ..........

please share with relevant people: 30 Jan 2013
The District Disaster Coordination Centre at Bundaberg wish to notify all persons and particularly residents living in the vicinity of the high pressure gas pipeline running between Miriam Vale and Bundaberg that a leak has currently been detected in this pipeline. Action is being taken to ascertain the location of this leak so as it can be repaired. Police request for all persons to be vigilant and advice from experts is that this leak will predominantly be able to be heard as a loud roaring sound from over 100 metres away and may even be able to be seen as a mist cloud. The gas in odourised and so the leak may also be able to be smelt. Supply to the pipeline has been turned off, however it may take some hours for the pipeline to be de-pressurised.
