To all of those in QLD facing floods again good luck.
140mm in my back yard last night. Roads flooded already and no let up on the near horizon.
Take care, have your emergency plans ready to enact.
They are opening up the dam gates down Brisbane way in preparation....

Thank you, Soul. I haven't been there for a long time, so don't remember the land layout.
Hi.. I am back... got power on about an hour ago...
Parts of Tantitha are flooded... PM me a street name and I can let you know for sure...
I have some pics.. some taken by me and some I have saved off facebook.... I will put some links up to those pages later as well as some amazing shots.
As a note.. Cut and pastes do not help either as information was changing hourly... better to link to the official government websites and let people get up to date and relevant information. Not that people would refer to cs in an emergency but for family and friends that are concerned please keep an eye out on the official sites... will post links that are useful later too.
The tornados were scary.. missed my place and my mums thank goodness but steamed through lots of other peoples.
Bundaberg is still in trouble... we will have a high river peak for another 24 hours.... homes that have never been hit before are destroyed this time around. I believe that food might be getting in today... but shelves are empty and all dairy and fresh food is gone.
I am heartbroken for my little town.... it will take a long time to recover
BUT... please spare a thought to people further north... the Bruce was still blocked in Rockhampton I think.. that means no supplies heading north from Rocky upwards....

Hi Cat, must be a relief to have power back.
I can't watch any more of it, it is just awful.:-(

It is a relief Az... I too have had to tune out for a little bit.
As we were stranded with power lines down and roads flooded I did my little bit by cooking for the old man next door.. I had gas so still had the ability to cook... when my freezer defrosted I donated the side of lamb to the small evacuation center here. The least I could do and the thought of throwing more food out was heartbreaking... they all got a good BBQ that night.
Now I have booted up my freezer again.. have loads of washing to do and am looking forward to a shower above freezing.. lol
small things I cherish now.

I appreciated them as well, my connection has been shaky at best over the weekend, TV reception horrific, so Iza's C&P were a lifesaver to me. Cheers Iza
I'm glad that they were of some use and interest to you Greencat.I think that's why you asked me to keep them coming.I was a bit reluctant as I kind of knew from past experience what may happen lol.
thankfully Cats_Back safe and well and so the thread will go on in her capable hands.

have heard, via facebook, from my friend at Burra.
She is stranded at her house as all the roads around her are flooded.
She has had no electricity since Monday 26th but has hit and miss internet service.
She has no phone and has been told by her closest neighbour that they can expect to be without electricity for 2 weeks at least.
She says it is very hot and humid.
Her hubby, who works away is stranded where he is so she is all alone.
Im so worried for her

Sorry I didn't see your question earlier ddb. Yep, bucca and lots of little places like where I live are cut off.
I was a little cranky yesterday (no kidding) because there has been no help or even enquires to people who are stranded, like your friend. Lots have intermitent phone/internet and no power. I understand what can be done is being done but.......NOT in all these little places.
No amount of telling people that there are people trying to help etc will change the fact that for a few, there isn't.
I understand how you must be worried about your friend ddb, my OH couldn't get home either, just me and the cats.
Couldn't get to moore park beach again today....

Please remember that just because you do not hear about it on the radio or TV you are not forgotten.
I listened to the ABC local radio on the transistor.... a few emergency responders were saying that people have been distressed because they feel like they are forgotten but in fact are not.
An example... the Army is here in Bundaberg now.. for days they have been rescuing people off houses and today that dangerous situation has calmed down... more crew are on the way (possibly already here) and are planning on using the Black Hawks to help you.
They are focusing on getting aid to remote and isolated people. They know you are there.. they know you are isolated and if not for the cyclonic conditions they would have been to you all sooner. It was just too dangerous. We all know how scared you are... and how alone you are feeling but the army is on the way.. SES is on the way....
Please do not think that we have forgotten our friends stranded on high places surrounded by water...

Amy.. has your friend made contact with the SES????
Really important.
132 500
If she can't call but you have her exact address then you can make the call for her. Let them know what the situation is and they will organise help.
And yes it is part of the Bundaberg region...

Actions speak louder than words.
We will see what happens today, I'm hoping the ses can help.
I've rung the ses and spoke to a lovely person who passed on the info. A little while later another person from the ses called .
I need medication from the pharmacy at mp beach, they have the script that my doc faxed them.
When the ses rang they asked if a neighbour could take me ? Then spent a couple of minutes telling me that Moore Park rd was open until I said it isn't between here and MP Beach, her response?
I don't know anything about that area 😐
She doesn't know if anything can be arranged, will ring me back.
You're probably thinking it mustn't be medication that I really need, but ventolin and endone(morphine) are pretty important to me.
and yes, I do keep two inhalers but it's been sooo humid that I've needed to use more than usual.
I'm sure there must be quite a few people out there who are in the situation as I am, and I hope the water goes down quickly so people can get what they need.
Supplies were taken into Baffle Creek yesterday and north bundy is suppose to get supplies today, whether that means MP Beach too? Don't know.
Cross your fingers for me.
