Take Care.... QLD flooding again.

To all of those in QLD facing floods again good luck.

140mm in my back yard last night. Roads flooded already and no let up on the near horizon.

Take care, have your emergency plans ready to enact.

They are opening up the dam gates down Brisbane way in preparation....

I wish - would make life much easier :^O

Actually we have named this property [Oursurname]'s Ark - really truly, did it when we first moved in, there is a sign above our front door.

We can divide the caravan in half; so the four naughty dogs will stay in the back end, the four good dogs and three cats in the front end, plus us. We have moved all the camels, calves, goats, up to the higher paddock already, and will take the two pigs up when/if we have to go up. We have moved all my baby chicks and Screech (tawny frogmouth orphan) onto high shelves in the kitchen.

Filled up all our water bottles, some in the caravan, some in the kitchen, also filled up a 200l drum of water and moved it up by the caravan.

We've got a freezer/fridge full of food, but bugger all canned, but I guess if we get really hungry, there's a butt load of critters here......

JUST JOKING - wouldn't eat my babies!

My little family in Gladstone, Ex DIL  and grandchildren,  have had to be evacuated - their whole street is one of those under threat. They are all OK though - granddaughter was worried about her cats but they have been found and brought to safety.

Take Care.... QLD flooding again.

Bucketing down here, and pretty windy around the Redcliffe area. Waves on the normally calm, sheltered waters of the bays.

We live right across from the water where we are, but have mangroves protecting from any waves. Had a really high stormsurge earlier, but it hasn't crossed the road where we are.

Watching the news and seeing idiots out in flooded creeks and storm water drains paddling canoes despite warnings to not go in the water.

Take Care.... QLD flooding again.

It is pouring down here and getting windier by the minute, I have done all I can to keep the water out....biggest worry is the neighbours huge gum tree which hangs over our garage.

Live: Queensland calls in Army as wild weather strikes

Sunday January 27, 2013 - 15:02 EDT

The Queensland Government has asked the Army to send helicopters to help the state deal with torrential rainfall, major flooding and tornado activity.

Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and other parts of the state's south are on tornado watch, with high winds expected until at least 8pm as ex-tropical cyclone Oswald makes its way south towards NSW.

At least in the Wide Bay yesterday and several swift-water rescues have taken place.

Severe for regions stretching from central Queensland to the NSW border.

Residents in Bundaberg North have been told to evacuate, with hundreds of homes and businesses in the city at risk of flooding as the Burnett River rises.

The weather bureau expects the worst of the weather to be over New South Wales by Monday.
