She might learn something.................or did she provoke the beating?

Nasty pasty...everyone's entitled to their opinion...

Icy, are you saying you're in agreement with Bettina Arndt?

Otherwise, why would you lend any importance to her comments?

Stating that a person is entitled to an opinion, do NOT mean you agree with them    ...... Its simply stating a FACT

I'm saying she's entitled to her opinion, just as everyone else is.

OK lets get this straight right from the start.....NO I'M NOT SUPPORTING DV OR THE HORRIFIC MURDER............ BUT.......There is obviously a lot more to this story than the neat little, " he was a cruel monster, she was the perfect mum with the perfect kids ' that some in the media are portraying. What was it that the senior detective knew, that the rest of us don't ?

Is it possible that the father was " driven to it " as the detective suggested by the inequalities and gender bias of the family law courts ? I have seen enough examples of this bias and the resentment and anger it causes to know that there is something fundamentally wrong with our family court system. In the pressure cooker heat of family breakdown, woman can and do make unsubstantiated and fabricated claims of DV to the courts in order to win custody of children. ( and NO i,m not saying this did or did not happen on this occasion, we mere mortals simply DON'T KNOW !!!. )

The overstretched courts do not have the time or resources to fully investigate the claims and so simply, automatically find in favour of the mother, leaving the father without access or contact with his children and branded as a violent person when this is not always the case.

I don't know what went on behind closed doors for this family and neither does anyone else on this forum. One of the only people who does have some idea is the senior detective who has been stood down and he has suggested things are not as simple and straight forward as the media and DV activists are making out.

If people are speaking out and raising awareness of this legal discrimination within the family court system and highlighting the pain it is causing men, why should they be abused and victimised by the politically correct zealots.

He had just been granted access the day before he killed everyone
It's in one of the articles.
My father would have killed us all too if he had been able to find out where we were hiding.
These types of men are mental and nothing will change their behaviour

My parents hadn't even got to the point of the court being involved.
Thankfully mum had just received a letter from him letting her know that he was coming back from Whyalla to get us.

In many cases these men do have very real mental health problems and yes this is very damaging for them and others close to them.

But like most mental health problems there are treatments available. While some of these guys are probably beyond help, many perpetrators of DV don't actually like themselves very much and regret the damage they do to their relationships and families. It is these people that society should be looking to assist to seek treatment. I suspect it is already happening, its just that it is kept very quiet as there is a lot of shame and social judgment directed towards males who seek help for their violent behaviors.

Often as the detective hinted, things are not all one way and the woman in the relationship can be just as violent as the men. Its just that society excuses and chooses to ignore violence by woman in the home. Men are stereotyped as the tough, he men that should be able to stand up to the " little woman " if she chooses to hit or punch him. DV by woman is ignored by society and rarely reported.

Just another anachronism of our changing social attitudes from the 1950,s to now, with some things slow to catch up. Helped along by the rampant femenists who believe all men are B...tards

So he had been prevented from having any contact with his children for an extended period of time then ...... sorta reinforces my point doesnt it.

Actually I used the wrong word.
He had access it was dual custody that had been granted.
He wasn't at any stage denied access

I'm obviously stupid as you can get because I don't believe that denial of access justifies murder
